"To say that cactus was big is an understatement. It’s so big it probably charges the owners rent! Very clean and VERY quiet. We saw a lot of stars we normally don’t see. Huge deck allowing morning and evening sun. Nice and relaxing for coffee and wine. We literally did not see another person up there except on the road. It is a birder paradise and the ground squirrels frolicking was a kick. We will be back when visiting grandkids."

"We were talking about how California residents are so friendly because random people would come up to us and start chatting- until I checked in here. The girl at the front desk seemed to loathe her job. The property and room were nice. The first night we were going to sleep and someone opened our door and said the worker just checked her into that room. It was almost 10 pm. Then at 10:30, dozing off, the front desk called to tell me they had a glotch in the system and it booked both of us in the same room and I'd need to get my key card activated in the morning. The worker the next day told me the previous worker typed the wrong room number in for the other guest. The bed and pillows were comfortable but the first day we had a wolf spider in our room and after I woke up the first morning I had a spider on my arm. The breakfast was different each day which was nice but one morning I found moldy bread and I told the attendant and she just kept all the bread that was touching it in the box. We stayed 4 nights and I put the maid card out for new towels and a room clean and came back to no towels or clean room. I had to call and request my room be cleaned the next day. Other than those issues, it was a good room, pretty Grounds, and good location. Besides being across from the fire station."

"Door looks need to be updated we had to get new key cards every other day because our key cards did not work. We were told to keep them away from our cell phones which we did. Stairwells smelled like urine. Laundry room trash was over flowing and laundry room smelled moldy. I do want to shout out Aiden at the front desk he was very friendly, professional, helpful. I did enjoys staying there it was right by the water very quiet and peaceful the cost was affordable and a good deal for where we were at and you get breakfast which was amazing and yummy. Thank you to the morning staff. Please make sure Aiden gets a shout out."

"One of the women at the front desk was delightful and very helpful. One was not. Pool was smaller than I expected would have been nice to have some music out there . would also be nice to have a larger changing room or bathroom was possilbe a shower for early or late checkout . WIne @ 5pm and cookies @ 6pm a nice touch. Rooms were really nice, location was great, love the proximity to beach and restaraunts. Overally would recommend and return!"

"Room 102 was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located just a few steps from the lobby. All of the staff that we interacted with were courteous and helpful. It's on the back side of the hotel, so no view (except for the rear parking area and the Surfliner train tracks) The small patio with 2 chairs was nice for fresh air in the evenings."
