Manuel was the caretaker and just a super sweet guy. The house is behind a gate and you can’t tell how pretty it is from the street. Also, when we first arrived, we were a bit tired and confused as it was our first time in Costa Rica and we just had driven a rental car from the airport. We went next-door to the really good restaurant and had a great meal, which gave us a little more sustenance for the adventure. We started to feel more comfortable after that. And walked back to the rental just in time for an outrageous sunset on the beautiful balcony. There was some construction going on when we were there and by American VRBO standards, it wasn’t totally ready for primetime. But it really didn’t affect us and the view and the kindness of the caretaker made up for a few minor details that I’m sure it will be correct corrected when the construction is soon completed.
