"This lodge and spa is located in a valley between two mountain ranges at about 5000 feet (compared to Monte Verde 4300 feet) and is considered to be within the range of cloud forest. When we arrived, we were checked in and the host was very nice but failed to give us clear information of how to navigate the privately owned cloud forest with very hilly resort location and four water falls all within the property. "We had a great honeymoon at Xandari! The grounds were absolutely breathtaking, and really easy to maneuver around. We wish we would've taken advantage of the spa during our stay, hut we didn't have time. Only issues we had were that our power went out a couple times when it rained and one night we had to wait till the next day for it to come back on. Other than that, everything was beautiful and an exciting way to experience Costa Rica for the first time!"

"This is a uniquely beautiful hotel and very eco-friendly. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Outside of the burger (somewhat cold /underdone) the food was very good albeit pricey. We would return in a heartbeat if we could and wished we had a longer stay"

"Property is outside of the downtown hustle, but that also meant there was nothing extra around like dining options. It is generally quick to get an Uber to move around from the area (unless you hit traffic). But if you are looking to be away from more of the city environment, but still be close by, this is a great place. "

"At first they asked us if we wanted ground floor, and w said yes and got placed in room 4. It was a total nightmare with a rattling door and a shower with no edges. We asked if we could move, they said yes, and we moved to room 7, which was amazing. Clean, great shower, lots of space, a separate wardrobe, etc. Breakfast simple and fresh, hand cooked for us. Our only complaint was wifi, which only worked in the lobby. Overall a very good place. "

"I stayed there with my husband and we found the staff very accommodating and helpful. The property is close to downtown SJO and within walking distance to many attractions. There was always a taxi on stand-by so getting to further attractions was easy. The room was large and they cleaned and restocked toiletries daily. The gym was a little small but ample if you’re into maintaining your routine Overall a great experience. "
