Nice historic building that’s centrally located in the heart of Union Square. Busy area, so if that’s not what you’re into, then may not be the best for you. The room was nice with a large bed and clean sheets. Housekeeping must have forgotten to clean the tub. A glob of hair popped out from the drain when I turned the water on. There wasn’t a clog, and I could see a small strand of hair on the raised ledge above the tub, so it’s clear inside and outside of the tub wasn’t cleaned. I showered in flip flops due to this but probably should have called down for someone to clean. Better QC checks need to happen with housekeeping as this was a major turn off. The room seemed clean and modern, and the sheets and towels seemed clean. I mentioned the hair issue to the front desk the next day. While they did apologize, there wasn’t any offer of compensation. The hotel isn’t the cheapest and they do have a lot of rooms, but more attention to detail is needed. I’d stay here again due to cost and location but would carefully inspect everything before settling into the room. The front desk at check-in was pleasant, so that was a plus.
