Parking was hard and the area in general is a little dirty. At night you can see junkies at the side of the road and people peeing anywhere. The hotel itself has a historic feel but one thing I didn't like was how dark the room was and the shower was extremely slow. Overall I'd give a 7/10.
The entrance and lobby are deceiving since this general area is nice. Once you go up the elevators to the room, it’s as if you stepped into a horror movie. The room itself is run down since there is rust everywhere and peeling wallpapers. The walls are thin since you can hear the neighbors, sirens and the homeless people arguing at night. The surrounding area of the hotel is filled with homeless people. Regardless of the run down building, the hotel staff we’re helpful.
Great location and local transport right outside, no coffee making facilities however very comfy beds. Water filling station and ice station was nice. Friendly staff who pointed us in the direction we needed to go.
I love the rustic feel of the hotel it reminds me of the Titanic.
This hotel is perfectly fine for people who live in the Bay Area and understand what neighborhood it is in. It would HORRIFY out of town visitors. The blocks around it are full of what you would expect to find on Market Street - poo, needles, etc. If you pull up in an Uber and stay in the hotel, you're fine. The rooms are dated and have those awful fluorescent lightbulbs, but as a place to crash after a night out with drinks you're good. Lovely lobby.
