The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The carpets are worn, stained & looks like burn marks. Better regular cleaning as well... the trash cans were overflowing during the breakfast time, had to ask for coffee to be refilled. Pancake machine didn't work. The cinnamon rolls tasted very fresh. The night clerk, Ulisses, was the absolute best! Very friendly, kind & welcoming. He made our stay!

We stayed here twice on our trip because it’s close to CBX. The hotel is tucked way back in an industrial district surrounded by warehouses, so not convenient if you don’t have a car. Staff is kind and helpful, although I would have appreciated if they would have anticipated the fact that I’d need extra bedding (checking in with family of 5 into a room with a pull out couch) but each time I stumble exhausted to my room only to realize I need to go back down to the lobby to get bedding for my kid’s bed. Breakfast is good. Plenty of protein! Coffee was surprisingly good too.

Staff was rude to my sister in-law at check-in, it’s her first time in the USA. Tried to make her pay $100 cash at check-in for incidentals. Made her feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I got on the with the manager and tore into her and attitude changed. Not a good way to do business!

Some of the outer doors were broken due to vandalism so the main entrance was the only means of enering the property.

We were assigned a room with a flickering light, mold on a wall (wallpaper seemed wet and warped), and our tv froze and after shutting it off, it wouldn’t turn on. I went to the front desk and let them know and asked if we could get a different room. The gentleman said they were almost completely booked, but he would see what he could do for us. He was able to give us a different room which we really appreciated. He apologized for the room and for making us wait. More guests arrived while he was looking for us and he had to check them in. We didn’t mind the wait since he was able to help resolve our room situation.

Property was safer than what some have written. However, lot of noise from the parking lot and allowing people to hang out in the lot. Room was spacious, but very cheap furniture and hollow bathroom door which echos when being closed. Downstairs area was nice. Food for breakfast was a mixed bag of ok and bad. If you need a cheap room near border, you could do worse.

We used to get CBX for early AM flight to MX. There were better hotels in area... Would look around and even stay closer to SD...

First of All I had booked my room with two weeks in advanced for a two queen beds and when I got there the room smelled very bad like old and then I asked to get transferred to another room and they didn’t have anything else available. This was an awful experience and I wouldn’t recommend this honestly.

Walking in to the room , the tile floor was dirty and sticky, There was a pubic hair in the tub 🙄 And there were Doritos in the kitchenette cabinet. At 6:30 Am Friday morning 01/26/24 we were woken up by the gardeners . It was the worse Holiday Inn I ever stayed in.
