I've stayed at Hampton Inn's many times over the past 10 years as I've found them to be consistent for quality and value. Unfortunately, this Poway H.I., fell a little below the mark. The room carpet was worn and stained, the bathroom vent was laboring and loud and the thermostat was glitchy and in the evening when I needed the room to be cool, the air conditioning would shut off despite me having the setting at 68 F. and become uncomfortable for 5-10 minutes before coming on again. The staff were really nice and accommodating however at check in, the computers were slow and it took them about 15 minutes to get me checked in despite me being the only one at the desk. Around 9pm, I went down to the little shop at the front desk to purchase some Tylenol, ibuprofen or aspirin, for a raging headache. Their small area for such things was near empty with just a few Claritin packages and not much else. Breakfast was really good and up to the high standards of H.I. and the breakfast area was very nice. Overall I would give this Hampton Inn a 5 out of 10 whereas most I've been in were a 8, 9 or 10.
