Terreforti Luxury Village

Terreforti Luxury Village

8/10 Good
"We visited in September 2026 and, if you're visiting shortly after this date, expect a work-in-progress. Let's start with the amazing: outstanding gardens, pool, landscaping and just the general luxurious feel of the place. The suite we had was excellent as well, with a few issues (weird lighting controls, typical in Europe so no points lost there) and a glass door on the toilet room (gross, hotels need to stop doing this). Strong wifi. Comfy bed. Great AC. Friendly staff. Great breakfast! I mentioned a work-in-progress and it really is, although not in a negative way. I think the owner has grand plans for it, with many new suites and other rooms so this is great. There's construction work but it's quiet and respectful. Just don't be surprised by it. The negatives: the restaurant isn't great. The food is mediocre and expensive. Wine list had reasonable choices out of stock, trying to push to EUR 65 bottles. But the biggest scam of all is the EV charger. *** ASK FIRST HOW MUCH *** I've never been charged EUR 65 for 40% top up on my car. OUTRAGEOUS and straight up scam. That same amount at even the worst, Enel X charger is EUR 20. Tesla charges about EUR 15. Would I go back? Only if the EV thing gets sorted out and the restaurant gets better. Otherwise it's a lovely place in need of some better conveniences."

"Great helpful staff, lovely accommodation (& sunsets) and a nice pool. Breakfast was plentiful, though not much variety. The cottage was nice, clean and modern. With a couple of small touches, it would have been excellent. For example, it sleeps four, but there is only a two person table and chairs outside which was a struggle to eat from. The cleaning was great, but a dust pan and brush would have helped us keep it tidy during our stay in between cleans. Inclusion of basics, such as salt and pepper, oil etc would have been appreciated, but that is nit picking!"

"We’d found the lodging by chance as we were driving across the island. The owner met us in front of the home at 10pm, all smiles, and in the room we found every conceivable amenity from ear plugs to toiletries. Clean and delightful. The breakfast the next morning was set up for the two of us with place settings, fruit, a cake that was a local specialty, meats, cookies, and she even made us farm fresh eggs. Amazing! A nice surprise after a long journey."

"We thoroughly recommend the Villa Mario, Caltavuturo. For us, 5 adults, it was perfect because the double accommodation downstairs was private. We stayed for 11 days and the utilities were excellent. Downstairs has a utility room with fridge and washing machine & dryer. Each bedroom has A/C. Upstairs is the well appointed kitchen for food and drinks prep. The owner, Susanne, and Caretakers, Vincenzo & Lia were available and helpful when needed. Communication was prompt and no issue was too big a problem. In other words, you remained very much on holiday even when the normalities of life try to invade. We loved the pool which has a deep end which l estimated 2.25m deep. Of course there are steps in at the shallow end and the water in summer is the perfect temperature. Nature surrounds you.Cefalù 1 hr 15 mins, Palermo 1 hr 30 mins. Mt Etna (Piano Provenzana) 2 hrs 30 mins. All visited by car and worthy of mention. After a long trip out, we were often in Cafe Rouge, in Caltavuturo, to unwind with a very well presented Cocktail/Spritz!A bonus back at Villa Mario was the DeLonghi Coffee Machine. Watching the slow sunrise over the valley with sunlight filtering over the landscape is priceless. Helped with fresh ground coffee of course.Bedroom 1 (upstairs) has a walk in shower at the bed end which is shared with Room 2 (upstairs). Toilet separate upstairs. Downstairs have their own shower and toilet. Great for adult guests."
