I was disappointed that the beautiful amenities were unused, no restaurant which I was not told was closed. The place has so much potential and beauty but is not being used, sad. Castroville has a bright future and Hillside boutique should be taking advantage.

However, we are taking a portion of it and reimaging it into a new bar and restaurant with a new name, menu, etc. Should reopen in late May. Checking in was easy and the lady was nice. The room was big and felt very homey. The views from the pool and venue area are breathtaking. The area was quiet and peaceful.

The property is beautiful. Nice views with a beautiful hotel room! It was next to a busy street and walls are thin but over all a good get away hotel. I will be back.

This is a nice property to stay at. The rooms are clean and roomy, love the furniture. Every room is different. I travel for work and I feel very safe there. Great restaurants in town.

The property is on a hill with views and patios. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, rustic western chic decor with tile floors which was great for me because I have allergies. Beds super comfy. The staff was very accommodating and helpful.

Lovely small hotel overlooking Castroville. The room was spacious and elegantly decorated in Texas hill country style. Too bad the restaurant was being renovated, but we found charming places to eat in and around town.

Very Good Place to Stay
We had a very good stay and the staff was accommodating. I would recommend Hillside Boutique Hotel for anyone staying in the central Texas area.

Everything was just right! Clean, quiet room, great maid service. Bistro was closed for remodeling (or something), so we didn’t get to eat there.

We loved the room and hotel overall. The staff was wonderful. The spa was clean and professional. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The tile floors could use a good steam clean but they were always swept clean.

UNDERWHELMED
Everything was fine but nothing was above and beyond satisfactory. There were some small details that needed attention like broken toilet paper holder. Restaurant was closed the entire time we were there which was inconvenient since no breakfast was provided. Check in personnel was friendly and nice but appearance was unprofessional. The complex was almost empty and I think we were given the worst view upstairs in the complex. None of this was a deal breaker necessarily but it appears the only building that is really kept up is lobby and pool area everything was a little neglected. I was very excited for a quick get away and online the food and the appearance was spectacular in the pictures and very little was as the pictures represented the property.

We were taking a couple of days to get away and celebrate our anniversary. The staff was so friendly , and we found a special surprise in our room to celebrate. It was so kind!The room was so much prettier than more expensive rooms at other hotels, and the view was lovely. My husband did wish the nearby road was quieter, but it still felt like a lovely oasis especially for the great Orbitz rate! It was special and really felt like a holiday!
