OCEANVIEW Salvo - Dory Road - There is nothing better than a SALVO SIESTA at this sparkling cottage in tranquil Salvo. This gem is located just a short walk from the ocean, and not far from the boundary of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Recreation and fun are right outside your door, including the nearby multi-use path in the villages. Take a refreshing plunge in your private pool, lounge in your relaxing hot tub, or take a SALVO SIESTA on the mid-deck hammock. The third story of this home commands views of the ocean and spectacular sunsets over the sound and offers your choice of sundecks or a screened porch. Also from the third story deck, you have access to the open great room/dining area with vaulted ceilings.

Great house in a nice, quiet location.

We really enjoyed our stay and the area. If you are looking for some quiet time away from all the tourist stuff, this house is perfect! No crowds on the beach, basically had the beach to ourselves. Only issue was the moldy, torn corn hole bags. We just bought our own while down there.

Great week but won't rebook

We had a ton of fun, the house is big and bedrooms/bathrooms suited our needs very well. The hot tub was a great addition and the pool too although it is a little small it was big enough to cool off in. The kitchen was well equipped but we needed a little more seating in the living room. There were 10 of us and only room for five or six on the couches. Another love seat or chairs would be nice. Also, some of the beds were very uncomfortable. If they updated their mattresses we would definitely reconsider! The walk to the beach is a paved road (about 2 minutes) and no traffic and then a walk through the dunes for about 4-5. It's tougher because there's no built in walkway but that's with keeping a natural feel and our six kids are all over 8 years old so not an issue for us. With little ones or elderly it could be. The beach is fantastic, beautiful, and not a bit crowded! This was our favorite part and the reason why we came! We saw dolphins several days. There are a few restaurants and stores around but when we wanted to go out to dinner or shop we drove down to Avon (about 15 minutes away) which suited us fine. We also spent a whole day in Ocracoke which was worth the drive and the ferry was a lot of fun.
