"It is a very nice family-run hotel. The food in the restaurant is very good. While it is conveniently located to the areaâs attraction it is in a very quiet location in the country side. "
"We rented Apartment 3, two bedrooms plus a loft that comfortably slept our party of five. The apartment is very nicely finished, preserving the old world character but adding modern amenities like a dishwater and espresso machine! The complex has three apartments who share a wine cellar with a large table, a terrific barbecue area and our favorite, an electric sauna overlooking the Danube. Only two minor issues: (1) Apt 3 has only one shower and one toilet which was tight for five people,...
"En smakfullt renoverad Àldre byggnad med underbar innergÄrd. Vi hade ett stort rum med stort badrum. Den goda frukosten kunde intas pÄ innergÄrden.
Vi togs emot vÀl och kÀnde oss vÀlkomna frÄn första stunden! En riktig pÀrla som vi gÀrna Äterkommer till! "
"We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Good value knowing the breakfast and the spa was included. The breakfast was amazing with a lot of options."
"The location is pretty, breakfast was good and hotel overall is in good shape. They really should consider installing air conditioners since the weather has gotten so hot in most of Europe. It was very difficult to sleep. The temp dropped a bit but very late at night and the fans were just circulating hot air. "

"We had a nice two night stay in the hotel. The room was big enough for our stay with comfortable bed. We loved the outdoor pool and the roof bar. We could rent bikes for a day to explore the area and cycle along Danube river. The breakfast was amazing with great selection. Reception staff was very helpful. The only negative is that the outside parking doesnât have enough spaces for such big hotel, there is a big underground carpark for âŹ16 a day which we thought itâs quite a lot and we thought should be free for hotel customers. Otherwise the hotel is great and was perfect for what we needed. "
"Fun place to stay so close to the Melk Abbey. No lift or AC but opened windows at night and the provided fan made the room very comfortable. Quaint hotel and town. Easy access to the Abbey and walking distance to the Danube. "
"The hotel is very well located for accessing the city center. There is a beautiful park nearby. Motorcycle parking is available in the hotel garden, which is closed overnight. The staff were very friendly and offered a full breakfast with eggs upon request."
"If youâre planning to visit Melk Abbey, be aware that Hotel Donauhof is not within walking distanceâyouâll need to take a taxi, which costs about âŹ16 each way. Alternatively, there's a bus that runs only once per hour.
The hotel provides no in-room amenitiesânot even, tea or bottled waterâand there is no air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable in the warmer months after June. There are no activity area around the hotel, with no restaurants nearby except the hotelâs own. During our stay, the elevator was out of order, and we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs.
If you're visiting Melk Abbey, I would recommend staying in Melk itself. You'll find similar or lower prices, access to a charming small town, and several dining options within walking distance.

"Our group only had 1 night here. The stay was pretty comfortable, although it was quite difficult sharing 1 bathroom amongst 5 adults, but we managed. Space was sufficient for us and overall stay was comfortable. Only thing was that floor of the room was like stone/concrete, which didnât seem comfortable to walk around barefooted. Thankfully we had slippers. There is no free parking onsite, but there is street side parking."
