Our recently renovated boho-style cottage features three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, accommodating up to six guests. You'll love our top amenities, including a cozy indoor fireplace, dedicated workspace, high-speed wifi, and a fenced backyard perfect for your four-legged friend.

Our cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Each bedroom comes with cotton bed linens, clothing storage, extra pillows and blankets, hangers, and room-darkening shades. The bathrooms feature a vintage clawfoot tub and a tub/shower combo, and shampoo, conditioner, hairdryers, and essentials in each. Our family had a great stay during our fishing trip. The house was clean and welcoming with nice, comfortable furnishings and decor, well stocked with kitchen utensils, toiletries and even snacks, and just blocks away from restaurants, coffee shops and more in Salem. Can't wait to stay again!

Family Holiday Trip

Such a cute place! They have everything you can think of and many things you might have forgotten. The house is just as described, and very comfortable. The hosts are terrific. We will recommend to any of the extended family that wants to visit Salem. It was perfect for us, and thoughtfully stocked with snacks and water which we really appreciated since everything was closed Thanksgiving day.

We booked this cottage for our float trip. It was a little drive to the river, but we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Sarah was great with communication. We will definitely have to do this again.

Last minute stay for a family emergency

Due to a family emergency we quickly had to travel and accommodate 6 people. I can't praise this location enough. The owner was kind, professional, and very helpful with any issues, including helping with booking. The house is perfect for a large family visiting, every room was extremy clean, the beds were comfortable, the linens were all fresh and smelled great. If I ever want to go back to this area I'll definitely see if this is available first.

Perfect weekend getaway for float trip

We loved the space, very clean and comfortable beds! Six of us came down for a float trip from Cedar Grove to Akers Ferry and this was the perfect spot for non-campers. Everything was super clean and the kitchen was fully stocked with cookware so we were easily able to make our own meals. Would definitely return!

Our family loved this place, how it was decorated and all of the thoughtful things provided throughout the house! The beds are comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We will definitely rent this again for our next trip to the river!

Family Christmas (Rescheduled)

Sarah was extremely helpful and flexible! As we were snowed out for our original weekend and she allowed us to reschedule due to weather. The place was beautiful, tasteful, immaculate! Just absolutely darling! Had such a wonderful time at the cottage. The house location couldn’t have been more perfect. The kitchen was well equipped for family meals. Sarah and Jordan are wonderful folks who take great pride in their property. We will be back for sure!

The house is so cute, and immaculate. The kitchen is roomy and the host provides some essentials. The beds are very comfortable and the a/c works great. The location is close enough for day trips to the Current and Jacks Fork rivers for floating or swimming. The host is quick to respond. Love the checkout process. We will be back.

Beautiful, clean and cozy cottage!

The Simply Salem Cottage is beautiful! Updated, exceptionally clean and comfortably cozy! Many extras you don't always find! Snacks, coffee, detergent just to name a few! Adorable house with plenty of room. Bedrooms are good size and comfortable beds. Bathrooms are spacious and clean! Kitchen has all the things you could need for your stay! We didn't use the yard or fire pit as we were here to visit family and the weather was not conducive for outdoor fire. We did stroll the downtown area. It looks like the town is trying to revitalize it! Owners were so easy to work with, good communication and accommodating to our specific needs. Thank you to them for making our stay easier on my 92 year old mother! I would definitely recommend this cottage! It is a gem! A five star for sure!

Sweet Spot!

Five of us traveled to Salem from St. louis surrounding areas to celebrate a heavenly birthday and cancer surgery success with a float trip. We typically stay in hotels outside of Salem but opted for this rental instead and we were not disappointed. This sweet little spot was unexpectedly well stocked, super clean, the beds were so comfy and it truly felt like being at home. The backyard was a bonus for our fur babies. Sarah was quick to respond to my inquiry before booking and was beyond accommodating. Don't hesitate to book, you will love it too!

Restorative Quaint Cottage

Sarah and her family have provided a level of hospitality we've not experienced before with other VRBO stays. Consideration for their clients stay has been well thought through. Chilled water, snacks, storage bags, plastic wrap, tea coffee, creamer. Fully stocked kitchen. Everything was clean, SPOTLESS! Soft White Hotel grade linens, Plush towels. House was visually pleasing as well. Sarah has an eye for decorating. Typically first night I struggle to sleep. Bed, bedding very comfortable. House is quite deceiving from the outside, very spacious, layout insures privacy for all occupants. Neighborhood was quite. We would absolutely stay again.
