  • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.

Hôtel golf perdu au milieu de nulle part...réservé chambre luxe, pas eu celle sur la photo et ne doivent pas connaître la définition de "luxe , chambre spacieuse certes mais coupé en plusieurs partie,. Problème de capture de plusieurs chaînes de Tv, on modifié les câbles mais télé plus visible du lit....pas réussi a me connecté au wifi de l hotel...par contre très belle piscine agréable et felicitation au chef cuisto pour ses excellents plats meme si service très long (1er soir) alors que très peu de monde. Personnel pas à la hauteur du beau cadre.

Nice location

This is a nice Chateau, staff welcolmed us warmly and accomodated us with a late lunch. What bothered me were the dogs jumping on us while we were eating outside on the terrace or in the dining room. Dogs roam around freely. I am allergic to dogs so having them so close triggers allergies and asthma. So the dogs' who live on the property (four) just come and go as they please. When i asked a waiter to call the do g away from me he smiled and did nothing. I didn't let this put me off because we were there celebrating an upcoming wedding. Just want to alert the traveler.

Très très calme; chambre luxe gigantesque, salle de bain pas tout à fait à l'avenant. Très peu de monde=> restaurant fermé=> obligé de faire les 7 km pour retourner sur St Junien.

Good Hotel on Golf Course

A lovely hotel on a golf course. We stayed for 2 nights, and played the course. The restaurant is very pleasant, in an old converted barn. There was a jazz trio playing in the restaurant on one of the nights, and the meals were very good, and reasonably priced. The rooms are either in the clubhouse, or in a converted chateau (where our room was situated)

Très bon accueil et service impeccable. Le cadre est calme, reposant. Complètement isolé, profitez de ce bol d'air frais. Les chambres sont correct avec une décoration très sobre. L’hôtel est un peut isolé mais le cadre vaut le coup. Le restaurant semi-gastronomique est très bon et reste abordable par son menu.

I liked the place we were staying, especially the quiet, green area. Food was OK, bed comfortable, only the internet was missing what was advertised in the first place. the range of the internet only reaches certain rooms and ours was not in there.

Pas de wifi

Malheureusement, il n'y avait pas de wifi dans ma chambre alors que c'était mentionné dans la description. D'autre part, j'avais réservé une chambre avec terrasse et il a fallu insister pour ne pas avoir une chambre sans terrasse. Autrement, l'établissement est magnifique et les alentours somptueux
