"This is a classic farmhouse property on a hillside close to St Jean en Vercor. The large terrace was wonderful for eating out al fresco with a stunning view of walnut orchards and distant mountains. The house is old with authentic French furnishing but mod cons. Will definitely return if we can."

"We really enjoyed our stay, it was very peaceful and there was plenty of room for the kids to play in the garden. The pool was great, with steps for our toddler. She also really enjoyed the French reading books! Also, the kids enjoyed darts, basketball and boules and the neighbouring horses and chickens. There were lots of outside seating areas. "This is a budget environment place. We stayed for one brief night but were not impressed by the place. For ex. we had to make our own beds, and a bed sheet was torn/ripped, and we needed to clean up after ourselves to avoid a cleaning charge, which I didn't like on a vacation. "Tournon sur Rhone is a regular overnight stop for us. Hotel le Chateau is an old building splendidly situated overlooking the Rhone. We were a little concerned that next to the main road it might be noisy but the double (or triple?) glazing was excellent - we didn't hear any traffic. The breakfast options were outstanding. Will definitely re-book on our next trip."
