"Outstanding Breakfast, Decent room. Only concerns were that some areas of the hotel seem a bit run-down, for example the balcony had a ton of peeling paint and some algae growing. The hallway corridors seemed dusty, the room doors a bit beat up."
Wooden cabin with grass roof, sleeps 2-5 people., Self catering. Open fire place
10/10 Excellent
"This was a small cabin better suited to a couple than three adults but that was expected. The location is fabulous and the outlook is lovely. Lots to do if you like hiking. The main downside is access -which by road is long and the location is very isolated- be sure to check the ferry frequency as we were caught out and so couldn't go everywhere we wanted. Good kitchen for self catering, clean and warm."
"Although it's an older building, it offers all the amenities that can be expected for travellers. Bed runners embroidered with hotel name and dinnerware with hotel logo."
Newly built, high-quality holiday home close to Viksdalsvatnet — sleeps 9
10/10 Excellent
"Our week in Viksdalen was unforgettable. The location is absolutely stunning—quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by natural beauty. The house was perfect for our two families, offering plenty of space and comfort. Everything was spotless, and the sound of the nearby waterfall added such a special charm. Torunn and Lars Egil were wonderful hosts—very welcoming and helpful. We especially loved relaxing in the hot tub each evening, taking in the majestic views. The home was also conveniently located for day trips, allowing us to explore many amazing parts of the Norwegian fjords. This was the perfect place to experience the best of Norway, and we would love to return."
Stone cabin, sleeps 2-4, with traditional grass roof. Self catering.
10/10 Excellent
"Five stars is not enough for the stone cabin in Ortnevik! The one bedroom cabin is so charming. The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare meals and the bed is comfortable. The property is incredibly beautiful and there are interesting hikes right from the cabin. Just a quick walk away you’ll find an amazing wood sculpture garden that will blow your mind. Eldar was very helpful with check in and with advice on where to hike and walk. The small store in town has limited hours but a surprising amount of supplies for a small place. But if you have the option it is likely best to grocery shop in a larger town before arrival. At the cabin I felt I could be away from it all and see the real Norway. Thank you Eldar for sharing your wonderful property with us"
