This location was a great place to stay to explore Orkney. We loved the isolated and peaceful area. Plenty to do and see if you are prepared to drive a few miles. Spectacular cliff top walks with an abundance of bird life. The accommodation has everything you need for a self catering holiday. We stocked up with everything we needed from Tesco in Kirkwall after getting off the ferry.
The photos don’t do Richard and Janet’s place justice. It is a lot bigger than the photos suggest and tastefully furnished. I enjoyed having the recliner chair after a day walking. It was great to have the washing machine and a clothesline instead of having to use the dryer. The accommodation is right on Loch Swannay and we had lovely sunsets of an evening. Close to Skara Brae and the other major attractions. We would definitely stay there again if we return to the Orkneys.
Very well equipped upstairs apartment. With washing machine, dryer and dishwasher.Very, comfortable, bright and homely accommodation, with lovely views.We really enjoyed our stay.Lots to see around Orkney.
A lovely, quiet, peaceful spot. Easy access to Kirkwall and Stromness. Fully equipped kitchen, it was nice to cook and eat there rather than in restaurants or pubs. Hosts were great, highly recommended.
Quiet, rural apartment in the north of Orkney mainland.
We found the apartment quite easily with instruction from the owner. - about 40 mins from Stromness. It was quite comfortable but we were always conscious of the white carpet in the living space and bedroom. We had stayed on the island before and enjoyed many of the activities and visits again. (Ring of Brodgar, Marwick Head, The causeway down to South Ronaldsay, st Magnus cathedral and lots of birdwatching). Distances from the apartment are quite manageable but we think that Finnstown, our previous base was a more convenient.Thanks to Richard and Janet the owners
