fun getaway
cabin was great. restrooms were really small. check-in time was too late and checkout time was too early. cabin was very warm all the time. overall, this was a great spot and great location.
Nice property for our weekend getaway. Master room had plenty of room for our babies pack n play. My husband wanted to stay at a house that didn’t have very close neighbors since we brought our dogs with us and this property fit the bill. It was quiet and peaceful, with many deer walking around. The hot tub was nice to use after a day of walking and shopping. There was a nice lake close to the cabin.
This is a wonderful property. Nice and quaint, isolated but convenient. 5 minutes from the downtown strip, but when there feels like you’re 30 minutes out.
Also perfect location for fishing trips. 7 minute walk to grindstone.. just could bot say enough about this place.
Wildlife everywhere, safe and sound. Left my fishing rods on the deck and were left there all trip. This place is amazing.
Nothing fancy, but adequate for our use. The Frisbee golf course is something to see. Very challenging.

Getaway
When we arrived we couldn't get in the cabin. The code machine on the front door didn't work. We called the property manager & they sent out a maintenance man. He couldn't get it to work either so they gave us a key. The beds upstairs were like sleeping on the floor. They definitely need replacing. The cabin certainly does not look like the pictures on the website. Other than that the wildlife was beautiful, the weather was perfect & we enjoyed the many things to do around town.
We have traveled to Ruidoso over 12 times and twice with our two children. This cabin in BY FAR the nicest small cabin we have stayed in. Perfect for a fam of 4-5. Our kids slept upstairs and we slept in master downstairs. The cabin was very clean! The location was top notch - very secluded compared to Upper Cabin. Every cooking amenity you could need, plenty of towels, blankets, trash bags, paper towels/toilet paper, etc…
There is a baby gate, FYI. Wish we would have seen it sooner.
The location and parking and just about everything this place has was perfect in my opinion. Only having one shower was a bit of a challenge which I didn’t notice when looking at the listing. The oven also didn’t work which caused me to leave the frozen pizzas behind. But everything else including the hot tub, deck, privacy and location were perfect for us. Would highly recommend for smaller groups.
We very much enjoyed the stay we saw deer and a pack of wild horses in the yard. We went to the very nearby lake for a beautiful hike. The casino and downtown were both not far from the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub. We also really loved the wall of windows lots of sunlight and we enjoyed watching the nature around us. The cabin was clean minus a few spider webs in hard to reach areas. We were able to cook and we pretty much had all the cook wear we needed and the grill was easy to use. The house rules and leaving day instructions were pretty clear and nothing too extra as far as cleaning.
Our group included mom, dad, and a toddler! The cabin was located VERY close to the lake and good hiking. Short drive down to midtown. We only saw 1 deer around the cabin because the ground was so sloped. It had a big fireplace. The hot tub was okay. It had both a drip coffee pot and a kuerig. The walls creaked a lot at night, and the stairs were loud. You can hear people upstairs easily from downstairs. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and had only petty complaints! Also the owners responded within minutes every time I messaged them. My husband hated the beds, but I didn’t have a problem with them.
We had a great time in Ruidoso and staying in this cabin. The location was close to midtown shopping and resturants, but far enough that you felt like you were in the woods. It is located in a neighborhood, but it was one of the few cabins that wasn't right next to another cabin so it felt like you didn't have neighbors. We loved sitting in the (covered)hot tub when it was snowing. The hot tub only had two or three working jets though. The check in and check out was super easy. Overall, it was the perfect cabin. The only thing I would change is to add a tea kettle (electric or stove top) for the tea drinkers. And please invest in some new cookware. The pots and pans were scratched up teflon (yuck). They did provide a wide array of cast iron skillets which we did use, but please consider getting ride of the teflon.
This cabin is ok. The neighborhood is ok. The location for going in to town was good. The cabin could be cleaner and some things could be supplied/upgraded. There weren’t any cushions for the outdoor metal chairs so they were pretty uncomfortable. Sheets could be upgraded and a bath mat supplied. Bring your own ice cube trays, coffee, trash bags and zip lock bags, plastic wrap, etc. There were issues addressed with management that they have said will be fixed - tub backs up, hot tub only has 3 working jets, dirty kitchen ware, tv instructions outdated and system is very complicated and the A/C fluctuates. You can set a temperature and come back 2 hrs later and it has reset itself 2 degrees higher.
All in all, none of this ruined our stay but I don’t think we go the value for the money
The property was gorgeous and cozy. The cabin exceeded all expectations and I would be thrilled to stay again. I highly recommend this listing. You will enjoy the Jacuzzi outdoors, looking out to the undeveloped forest.A
