"nicely placed inside a safe area of the Medina. Taxis cannot go there, so you must walk to the house - exactly what we liked. The Taxidriver calls the owner and she comes to guide you to her place.... and this place is just marvellous, only three spaciuos, newly furnished rooms in traditional style in the first floor aroud a gallery, each with own modern bathroom. Good breakfast in the central hall of the house. Any help if necessary. We have been staying there for one whole week and have used...

"Memorable wonderful stay in a most unique, quiet and safe property in the historic Medina. Perfect for adventurous travelers, not the Marriott crowd.
Incredibly friendly and attentive staff made the stay simply wonderful. Highly recommend having dinner at the rooftop restaurant as well, and coordinate airport transfer with the hotel to avoid airport taxis.
Enjoy the Medina!

"Wonderful breakfast and service in the restaurant. Manager Lotti was extremely helpful in arranging transportation and tours. House keeping did a nice job of making my room inviting at all times. Thank you for an excellent stay! Scott Stevens/ USA "
"The Dar el Jeld is like visiting a fancy aunt's house. My Tunisian friend pointed out the vessels that her grandmother would have used to make rose water or store couscous and I noticed the inclusion of local plants (jasmine, prickly pear) in the decor. It was a delight for the senses and we would have stayed more than the two nights if the hotel wasn't already fully booked. The hotel van pick-up was super helpful. Although we were not able to have a late check-out, the hotel did hold our luggage for us, which was much appreciated. Guests are instructed to arrange with the spa and restaurants directly, instead of the front desk. "
"Essentially a brand new and modern hotel. Located less than 3/4 of a mile from the middle of downtown Tunis. Easy to walk to Tunis Marine (about 20-minutes). Great staff!"
"Very clean, and highly friendly staff towards my Goth Wife and her Goth friend.
Beds were very comfortable.
Free Breakfast was reasonable, various options of coffee or juice.
Only down side is the lack of an Elevator.
If you are Alternative this place is a good choice.
All staff were friendly, desk, cook, and housekeeping are all welcoming.
Only 3 staff shockingly it seems."
"Good location very close to the main market and other places of interest. Polite service and clean rooms. Decent breakfast and good value for money overall. I would stay here again."
