"This was a charming and comfortable base for biking and hiking in the Canaan Valley and areas beyond. We appreciated both the privacy of the bedrooms and the ample space in the living/dining room and kitchen. Nice views off the balcony, easy to use hot tub added to our enjoyment of the property."

"I want to start by saying I have been staying in this area for over 20 years at the same cabin, we changed this year to have access to WiFi for calling home. When I arrived at Bear Paw and opened the house, it was extremely musty inside and I had to open the windows to help air out the house. The water supply is from a well and tastes and smells horrible. You smell worse coming out of the shower than you did before going in. There is a washer and dryer present, when we used it, the drain line from the washer became dislodged and flooded the laundry room. When I notified the owner I was told that never happened before and he always watches the washer for the entire time it runs to ensure something doesn’t go wrong. The owner asked us to help clean up the basement. Not a reasonable reply to a failure. The owner was at the house 5 of 7 days we were there, with one day being a maintenance day on the other 3 bedrooms in the basement I was not given access to. When I’m on vacation, I want to spend time with family and friends, not the property owner. The WiFi was nice, but not worth the other issues I had to deal with. Will not be staying here again."
