"le loueur est un homme charmant qui a des choses très intéressantes à raconter sur son amours des chevaux. Le gite est d'une propreté impeccable et dans un endroit isolé mais à un quart d'heure des courses et une demi-heure de la sous préfecture où il y a tout ce qu'on veut y compris cinéma, théâtre, manifestations festives et culturelles etc.. le hic ce sera la canicule qui ne relève pas de la responsabilité du propriétaire! "We stayed at the property for 5 days and loved the location as it is surrounded by beautiful views of vines. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were comfortable. It is within an easy driving distance from most wineries in the Bordeaux area and charming villages in the Dordogne. Overall a great location to stay at. Our host Lorene was very responsive to any questions/issues we had and the owner were very accommodating. There is also a great opportunity to taste wines from the vines...

Le propriétaire le sait mais ne le précise pas dans son annonce. Lave-vaisselle trop petit pour 14 personnes et fonctionne mal. Il manque beaucoup de vaisselle. Chaises pliantes inconfortables Terrasse, mal éclairée Balles de baby-foot et ping-pong...

"This was a great find. The hotel is in a quiet area, not far from the railway station and a short walk from the town centre. The staff were very helpful and friendly and obviously used to dealing with foreign guests. There is a choice of basic or full buffet breakfast for a fee (about €7 for the basic one, about twice that for the full breakfast). This is available from 07:00, which is helpful if you have an early flight. The hotel has a nice pool, with a shady garden and sunloungers as well as outdoor seating, and you can get drinks from the bar to sip while relaxing. The room was airconditioned, which worked very well, and which we very much appreciated in the 37C heat! We felt it was a good price, especially compared with hotels in La Rochelle at the same period. Bergerac itself is fairly small, but has a good range of restaurants and other amenities. It is easy to walk around and there is a regular free shuttle bus that goes between the station, the centre and the waterfront, if you don't want to walk. There is a large tourist information centre close to the waterfront, with a wine centre offering free tastings. You can also get a boat trip on the Dordogne in a replica gabarre (flat-bottomed boat). We watched the solar eclipse from the old bridge, which was spectacular, but obviously a one-off event. Overall, highly recommended. We look forward to going back!"

"The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The pool was a welcome facility in the 38° heat and was well maintained and clean. A continental breakfast was available for an additional fee (10€ adults 5€ kids). The hotel was a short walk from the old town of Bergerac so well situated for shopping, eating out and sightseeing. There was secure parking available for a fee but there was also plenty of free parking in a public car park next door. Would definitely recommend this hotel."
