We loved the atmosphere of the historic home and getting to know our hosts who were tremendous when we asked them for providing recommendations on places we might visit in the area. This was one of the best places that we stayed at during our vacation.

If you were looking for a different place to stay, love history, and old homes. This is the place for you. The hosts are wonderful, with a delicious breakfast. The downside is it is an old house, with very steep stairs. And it is on a very busy main road. But we didn’t hear any traffic noises, as there is air-conditioning and we were able to keep the windows closed. We slept very well. It was a fun place to stay on our overnight stop from crater Lake national Park.

Adorable home! The hosts were some of the most knowledgeable, friendly and overall wonderful hosts we have encountered. The grounds were immaculate and the house was stunning. It had one of the best shower heads ever! We will definitely be back if we are back in the area.

Lovely old house with history.

The hosts were wonderful. Beware though, there are 3 bedrooms upstairs with only 1 bathroom (none ensuite). The room was beautiful.

I booked with little research mainly for location and from pics place seemed charming but Wow once we got there Sherri shared history and gave us a tour this place is Amazing the rooms are so nice the bed and pillows So comfy could have slept for days! Breakfast was scrumptious-Mike did an amazing job! The garden areas like a lil piece of heaven on earth wish we could have stayed longer- hope to be back and bring others such a hidden gem!

Beautifully restored historic property

Beautifully restored late-1800's house, full of classic period antiques, original wood panelling, and beautifully decorated rooms. Close to downtown Roseberg, and near freeways. The hosts were warm and gracious, a font of historic knowledge on the house and the area. Beautiful gardens surround the house. A wonderful stay overall. Highly recommended.

A wonderful place to stay!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Historical John Rast House. The owners have restored this lovely 1875 home with great care. They were happy to share the home’s history as well as their own journey to restore it. Our room, as well as the whole home, was comfortable, clean, and an interesting historic experience. Our stay here was so much more enjoyable than staying in hotels that cost twice as much. We will stay here again!

Cherri And Mike were wonderful hosts. The property has a very interesting history, which Cherri enthusiastically shared. It's a 19th century time capsule, with modern conveniences and classic charm. If you like history, you will not be disappointed.

This place is unbelievable, and I don't think Expedia even knows how unique and special this place is. This is a true gem. A historic home restored by a sweet and kind couple who had a vision and wanted to preserve the house's family history. It's like being in a time capsule, and a museum. Beautiful art, decor, furniture, artifacts, photography, paintings. Very comfortable and spotless clean. Delicious breakfast. You're not renting the entire house, only a bedroom, and it has a shared bathroom. There are four bedrooms. We stayed in Clara's room, with the king-size bed. Not to be missed!
