Place we had to leave

When we arrived at this property, we could not stay. It smelled of mildew. Beds were very damp. It was misrepresented as two-bedroom and has only one. Kitchen area was small. VRBO worked with us to get out of this rental.a.dold

Great Location

This apartment was central to all of the Rome attractions, some within walking distance & close to public transit for others.Although lovely, we found it very dark as it didn't have any natural light coming into the apartment. The ceiling is brick giving it kind of a dungeon feel. The shower head is broken & just kind of dangles on the hose, must be hand-held.The kitchen has bare minimum supplies so if you plan to cook, you'll need to bring extras. The sponge in the sink is dirty there were no napkins, paper towel, kleenex, I think there was 1 role of toilet paper. No wine glasses which seemed odd to us.There is a sign on the wall telling you no talking is permitted after 11pm because they don't want you disturbing the locals who live in the building. Not suitable for a family or for young groups wanting to have a few laughs in the evening.

Roma Fantastico!!

Thie was our 1st ever VRBO outside of the U.S. so needless to say I was nervous. Upon arrival everything was as it should and looked exactly as pictured and stated in booking details. The space was absolutely perfect no issues at check in or checkout and oh my the space is better than the pictures very spacious with plenty of sleeping space for mutliple guest. Only small negative would be bed mattresses could be improved, but nevertheless a great stay and beautiful apartment.

Right in the heart of City Center

This was an amazing first stop on our Italy trip. The alley/street the house is on was quiet but so close to restaurants and shops, it was perfect! We traveled with our 14 and 11 year old kids and there was plenty of room and comforts. The AC blew cold, the freezer was big enough to freeze our water bottles. We had an amazing stay and we’ll be back for sure!

Perfect location to walk everywhere we wanted to see. We thought there would be a dryer based on the listing, but there was only a washer. Other than that, we had everything we needed in a beautiful historical building.

Great location

Great location for a Rome visit. Nice neighborhood with good restaurants near by. Kitchen is sparsely arranged so one would not cook there. Bed was comfortable and owner made sure we knew how to turn on the hot water and heat. We enjoyed our stay!

Our stay in Rome

We did stars for every question except for the cleanliness. The only thing that could have made it a 5 star, is if the floors were cleaner. Otherwise, it was great. The host was super helpful with our requests and replied very quickly to our emails. We would certainly recommend this place if you are looking to stay in the heart of Rome. The only tiny issue were the mosquitoes at night at the property. It was a lovely place and close to everything a tourist would want to see. Thank you Elina.

First time to Rome

Convenient to all of the historic sites. A large choice of restaurants, gelato shops and shopping in the neighborhood. The street just outside the door is very noisy at night. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was wonderful. No fault of the host, the bus we were told to take was not running the day we arrived. It took a lot of walking with luggage to find the place. Would stay there again due to the location.

Great Neighborhood

The location is perfect with lots of nearby food and shopping. The apartment is very clean. The apartment is not very comfortable however. Beds uncomfortable with no seating but kitchen table which is also uncomfortable. The noise from neighbors and outside is loud as if windows open when closed.

Perfect Spot: Middle of Rome - 15 min walk to Vatican/Sites. Great Owner, clean place, good beds.

Amazing property right in the middle of Rome. The owner was very communicative and helpful. When we needed to check in early she provided a locked are for ou luggage. Top Location: 1. 2 min walk to Groceries 2. 2 min walk to buses 3. 12 min bus to Rome Termani 4. 20 min walk to Vatican 5. Next to Italian Restaurants 6. Nice side street entrance Great Accommodations: Washer Fridge Stove 3 Beds A/C in bedroom Big bathroom Lots of plugs Great Communication from Owner: Quick responses when I had questions and was easily able to get into the apartment. I was also happy that it was on the ground floor and easy to access from the street. Thank you for the wonderful stay and I would suggest this property to anyone visiting Rome.

Good location and OK for a few days

The property description is a little misleading. I wonder if the property owner is just somewhat confused as to what VBRO descriptions are??? It says it is a 2 bedroom property, but it is really a 1 bedroom property that has two queen beds in the bedroom and then there is a sofa sleeper in the common space. There is very limited seating in the property. There is no spa as noted in the description. However in another part of the description it does note a shower only. The "dryer" is a foldable clothes rack and not an electric dryer. I assumed it was a washer dryer combo, but I couldn't find a drying setting on the washer. The location was great as it was within walking distance of many sites. For our group it was not a big issue, but if you don't like to walk 15 minutes or more perhaps the location won't meet your needs. Great shopping and restaurants almost right outside the door. We'd probably stay here again. We had a family of 5 which is always a challenge.

Superb Location!

There is just one bedroom but our kids slept comfortably in the pullout futon in the livingroom and our host had made up both beds for us prior to our arrival (thank you!). Finding this spot was a little confusing at first, but we figured it out thanks to photos of the front door and other details provided by the host who was great. There are very few windows, so it is a bit mildewy and could benefit from a good de-humidifier (don't try to do laundry it will never dry). However, the apartment has a lot of charm and while the kitchen is small (more like a kitchenette), the place was certainly comfortable and spacious enough for our family of four. The absolute best thing about this place is its location - it's ideal! Right in the heart of the old city and walking distance to everything. Located on a tiny street with lots of historic charm and 2 minutes walk from all the restaurants and downtown bustle, yet just far enough away so that it's peaceful and quiet. Like other reviews said, the vespas are the only noise (heard mostly from the livingroom where our kids slept). We highly recommend this spot - it's perfect if your plan is to explore the beautiful old city of Rome. Thanks for a great stay!

Excellent location and adorable property!

The property was clean and location couldn’t have been more perfect! In the heart of everything, but one block down so you weren’t bothered by the noise and foot traffic. My only suggestion to owner would be to replace the mattresses on both futon beds. The couch in the living room that makes into a bed, you can feel the bars but is do-able. The bedroom has a queen bed and then another futon, the mattress on the futon in the bedroom is unsleepable. There are two bars that run from one side to the other with zero padding from the mattress. This is not even usable. We couldn’t sleep on this bed. Other than that… this property was absolutely perfect! It was adorable and met all of our needs for our vacation of 4 adults. Even with the mattress issue I would book this property again and would recommend.. just plan on only two beds being available not three like advertised.

This property was located a short walk to the Trevi Fountain and kind of in between the Coliseum and the Vatican (a little over a mile to each site). It is very close to the 64 bus, so look that route up when planning to visit sights and the bus line also goes directly to the train terminal. The Wi-Fi was spotty. It turned off twice while we were there (a few minutes after checking in and they fixed it after I texted the next day and it also turned off our last morning). It also does not work well in the bedroom, so if Wi-Fi is really important to you, that is something to consider. The apartment is cute and the owners are very friendly. There is a washing machine, but simple instructions for it would have been nice, since it was a European model and I didn’t know how to work it. The apartment has a small fridge, microwave and stove top, so if you want to cook (we didn’t), this would be a good place. We walked everywhere, but you might want to do the bus and save time and energy. With extra person charges and late check in charges, it was not even close to as cheap as the Expedia search said, so just pay attention to those charges when considering the total cost and value, which I still feel it was a decent price considering. There are also taxes per person per night, that I believe Italy charges everywhere. It was 17 Euros per night for a party of 5, just to give you an idea. The online picture of the bedroom is exactly what it looks like, so no surprises there. A good stay.

Deceiving unit description and photos

My friends and I stayed in for three nights in July 2024. We were frustrated by several factual errors between the listing and the reality of the space. The address is incorrect in the listing. It’s listed as having two bedrooms. There is one bedroom with two beds. In the living/dining/kitchenette there is another bed. This is shown as a couch, but is in fact a futon bed. There is only ONE bedroom. The photos of the listing are deceiving. The air conditioning unit only reaches the bedroom and not the bathroom or living room. The apartment was damp when we arrived. It was very musty and we found mold in the bathroom. Several items that were indicated did not exist, examples include a dryer (there is a washer) but because of the dampness of the apartment, we had no faith that anything would dry in a few days' time. There was also not a coffee pot or a hot tub. The apartment is a basement/cellar unit and doesn’t have any natural light. This isn’t clear from the listing. The wifi is slow. It couldn’t keep up and this was both frustrating and dangerous. Because the unit is a basement, we were unable to use phone data and had to rely on wifi alone. Additional taxes are required by every city in Italy. However, these were not collected at check in or check out. The host asked us to leave the cash on the table in the kitchen. They collected the cash, but not at the time that they said they would. And they left no receipt. The way this was handled felt like an invasion of our privacy
