Nature Retreat in the Eifel with a Fireplace & Hiking Trails Right Outside the Door

Welcome to Mulartshütte (Roetgen)—a small village surrounded by nature but ONLY 10 minutes from the highway.
The approximately 100 m² apartment is located in an over 300-year-old fieldstone and half-timbered house with typical Eifel charm: a heavy old front door, wooden beams, and a cosy atmosphere—freshly renovated and modern, yet deliberately rustic in style.

The Accommodation

We provide wood for the first evening—you can take more from our “honesty” stash—we trust you.
• Fully equipped kitchen for self-catering.
The kitchen has everything you need for up to 6 people. Your first cup of coffee and a welcome snack are waiting for you.
You’ll need to provide the rest yourself—coffee: SENSEO pods (see below: Shopping)
• Cosy patio area with table, chairs, awning, grill/fire pit (wood provided—honesty box), grill utensils provided,
Please bring your own charcoal,
• 1 spacious bathroom on the ground floor with shower, soap, and towels included, hair dryer, and separate bathroom with toilet paper
• Washing machine and dryer (honesty box)
• 2-person infrared sauna
• 2 bedrooms with king-size double beds (1st floor & top floor) with freshly made beds.
For bookings of up to 2 people, only 1 bedroom will be made available—single occupancy: 25€/night extra.
Each bedroom has its own toilet and sink, with plenty of towels, soap, and toilet paper

Dogs are allowed for a fee (30 € per stay)

• Aachen (25 min by car) – Cathedral (UNESCO), Carolus Thermal Baths, historic old town, restaurants, and the Christmas market (consistently ranked among Germany’s 10 most beautiful)
• Three-Country Corner (Germany/Belgium/Netherlands) – only about 30 min away, ideal for day trips
• Rursee / Eifel National Park (25-minute drive) – boat tours, kayaking, scenic overlooks (e.g., Vogelsang)
• Three-Country Bike Trail & Vennbahn Bike Route – start right from the house, also perfect for e-bikes (bike rental 10 min by car) (see below)

In winter, the High Fens often feature snowy landscapes; in summer, the climate is ideal for hiking and biking. Quiet, yet with excellent transport links
