Our second stay at the chalet - It was the perfect location for us to explore many trails, including the AT, during this gorgeous time of year near Roan Mountain. A quiet location (with a roaring brook) to unwind after hiking all day in rocking chairs by the outdoor fireplace immediately outside our doors. A most convenient and comfortable stay. We will be back again!

It was a unique stay at this property. Not the average cabin in the woods. The area was beautiful this time of year (Fall). And the creek running beside the property was picturesque. Overall, we had a wonderful time. We had a slight problem with noise, but the owners and staff took care of our issue and immediately moved us to another Chalet. Thank you for sharing your property with us, we will be back!

We cut our stay short...it was that bad. Unit is in a damp basement area. Uncomfortable and sparce furnishings and kitchen needs. Directions to NOT DRINK THE WATER? More rules trickle in as trip gets closer. Not relaxing or comfortable at all.

Beautiful Setting But No Privacy
This is our 4th stay at the chalet in less than 2 yrs. Obviously we LOVE the atmosphere and unplugged mountain setting. However, we have stayed in units 2, 3, 4, and 5. All four times, privacy was an issue. There is NO type of sound barriers, as the chalet used to be all one sharable space. Everything that a neighbor does sounds as if it is in thr same room with you, even the difference between top floor (unit 5) and bottom floor (unit 2). Unfortunately our upstairs neighbor decided to cook, eat, and clean up between 11pm-1am EVERY NIGHT of our stay this past time. We went home from this stay co.pletely exhausted with no rest because of neighbors. There was a door in our kitchen that did not meet the top of the frame work and only open air between us and the office. We could hear every move and word spoken from the office area as well. If the units are going to be rented separately, extensive improvements need to be made to insure privacy between units. Unit 2 had no bedroom closet and no dresser, leaving our clothes inside our suitcase for the duration. Our last stay. The room had no central heat and air and we stayed in June. We had to go buy a box fan to sleep with and open all windows and doors. We have had to buy items for the room upon every stay, as they are sparsely stocked. I hate to leave a 3 star review as we simply LOVE this place and it has such wonderful potention. But after our 4th stay over nearly 2 years, improvements just simply have to be made if customers are to be comfy and happy.
Wi-Fi was weak. Very peaceful and relaxing stay. Enjoyed the stream

Beautiful getaway
We spent 3 nights and loved the area, the nature and quiet buffered by the Tiger creek outside the cabin. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Loved Roan mountain state park. Would definitely return!
We truly enjoyed our stay. The reason for the 4 stars is because of the lack of sound proofing between this ground floor apt and the one directly above. We could hear the conversation, the TV, setting the table for meals, the leaps and bounds and running of a HUGE dog, etc. The antics of the dog made it seem like the ceiling was about to cave in. Maybe animals should be contained on the ground floor.
Beautiful rental ! Location to hiking trails was magnificent. We were able to bring our pup.
There was only maybe 1-2 other people staying so it was so quiet and felt so intimate. Truly loved everything about it.
No wifi is available ( I remember seeing that there was Wi-Fi but received and email the morning of saying no Wi-Fi was available) so no work from home days here
Reception was spotty almost non existent, I was okay with it for a short few days, but for longer trips and staying in contact for emergencies would be my only concern
This was my 2nd time here and I loved it. Not the best cell service but the place was nice and clean and quiet. Just what I needed and I will be going back again. The owners were awesome and very helpful.
Couple of odd things happened. We were in C2, someone knocked on our door at 12:45 at night thinking we were the office. People staying in C1 kept parking in front of the unit. Hard to load. Other than this, very clean and quiet. Enjoyed our stay.

Well????
Property is beautiful…..but….listing clearly said wifi and tv on site. Owner emailed us less the 24 hrs before our arrival telling us no services were available! No cell phone service!
We came to TN to shop real estate. We spent our time riding to and from hot spots to communicate with the outside world.
Listing needs to be accurate.
