"Wonderful sea view from the room. Room and bathroom was a little dated but clean and everything was functional. Beds were comfy. Restaurant right downstairs is open to the sea giving stunning views and food was good but not much available for vegetarians."

Park Hotel

8/10 Good
"If you’re from US or Europe, this is a three star hotel at best. This is not a criticism. It is what I expected and the staff is excellent and it is clean; it just is not the Marriott. They have been renovating parts of the Hotel, which is warranted, especially with the influx of some modern hotels, but my overall experience is good to excellent overall. This hotel would thrive more, if Limón itself was not lacking in nightlife.. Four stars overall."

Riverfront property with private pool, close to pristine beaches. Bird watching

10/10 Excellent
"The Riverfront Property is just as advertised. We enjoyed getting to know the area, including a driving south to Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo as well as Cahuita National Park.Being more urban folks it took a bit of getting used to the more isolated location. It’s great to be surrounded by nature, but it is noisy nature, including howler monkeys who woke us up at night. We loved the pool! The sun-heated water was the perfect temperature to just laze the afternoon away in.The kitchen is amazing and includes everything you might need to stay in and make your own meals, which is exactly what we did.Jose, our host was attentive and quick to respond to any questions we had.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property!"

It runs parallel to the Caribbean Sea, giving many accommodations easy access to the sandy shores. The calmer waters are superb for snorkelling, diving, and boat trips to nearby Tortuguero National Park. The shoulder months of May and November also offer good weather with fewer crowds, providing a nice balance for those looking for a quieter experience. You might encounter occasional rain showers, but they are usually brief. For those interested in turtle nesting, the prime time is from July to October, although this falls within the wetter season.
