Loved the art around the hotel. Good location close to attractions and transit. Staff was amazing and helpful, especially Michael. Check in was a breeze. Would recommend.

The suite rooms were nice- but a bit pricey. Beds were comfortable, sitting areas very nice and well equipped. Biggest complaint was the first floor bar was a joke, a missed opportunity. House keeping missed our room- but mistakes happen.

Room was spacious, beautiful and clean. Decor was modern. Walkable to dining and night life. VERY minimal parking parking nearby, really only option is valet. Staff were not overly friendly or rude, just there to do their job.

Pros: Beautiful, historic hotel in downtown Richmond. Valet parking was prompt. Dinner was delicious with fast, friendly service although the opening of the dining room and bar was quite delayed (on a Saturday night). King suite was nicely decorated, spacious and very clean. Cons: Check in receptionist was not at all welcoming or helpful. Noisy- although the hotel did not appear to be busy we were placed next to the elevator, our view looked out on hotel mechanical equipment, and street traffic echoed up loudly to our floor.

The room type you booked is located in the same spot in the whole building. Hopefully if your plans bring you back to Richmond you can come back and stay with us again. Parking was 33$ Room was large and staff was kind and friendly Room we stayed in needed some updating, repairs and renovations. The shower leaked all night, there was mold in the shower, the lampshades next to the bed were damaged. I was expecting a 4-star property but this is closer to a 3-star.

Nice property - wish we had a better view of the city but we didn’t spend much time in the room, it was one night. We do wish there was a full length mirror. It seems a lot of hotels are leaving these out and for people going to events etc it’s needed. Bathroom was really nice and bed, pillows very comfortable especially for the price. Really enjoyed the valet too.

Incredibly spacious suite — great for families or small meetings. Hotel needs an update (peeling paint, etc) but rooms make up for it. Plus Capitol directly across the street for pleasant walk (and some history).

The Commonwealth was great for my one night in Richmond. Leading up to the stay, the staff were responsive, friendly, and helpful on the phone. Upon check-in, were given a suite with a huge, separate living area which was convenient and unexpected. The on-site food was convenient and tasty for breakfast. Be aware that the elevators are very tiny and the hallways are narrow. Great stay- I’d definitely come back!

Lovely property in great condition. Huge room. Very fast, friendly valet parking and check in/out. Perfect location for access to Capitol and General assembly buildings. Restaurant food is OK if you're too tired to go out, but I'm pretty sure it is just frozen stuff from Costco.
