The Fairway Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

"A lovely place, but disappointing food, service, and broken promises. I stayed here last night. Although the property itself is lovely, my experience was let down by the food and the lack of professionalism from some staff members. This does not apply to everyone, but some staff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to guests. Their approach felt overly casual, and customer care did not seem to be a priority. Breakfast looked unappetising. The cheese and cold meats appeared dry, giving the impression that they had been put out repeatedly. The watermelon also had an unpleasant aftertaste, which made me question its freshness and whether it had been cut several days earlier. I cannot confirm when these foods were prepared or whether anything was reused, but their appearance and taste were disappointing. Unfortunately, I did not take a photograph. The most concerning part was dinner. The chicken and boerewors sausage appeared undercooked, with red meat visible inside. This raised serious concerns for me about food safety, particularly with the chicken. When I complained, the staff took all the meat away to cook it further. When it was returned, the beef had become rubbery and dry. The chicken appeared cooked through but had an unusual taste. The texture and taste made me suspect that the meat had been microwaved, although I cannot confirm how it was reheated. The meal remained disappointing. I was promised a refund for the meal, but at checkout"
