"Der erste Eindruck der Unterkunft war wirklich toll. Die Bilder waren schon schön, aber in echt war alles wirklich sehr wohnlich, tolles Ambiente und auch sonst hat es an kaum etwas gefehlt. Die Wohnung ist technisch gut ausgestattet, dh Smart TV, Klimaanlage. Geräuschkulisse hält sich auch absolut in Grenzen, was sehr angenehm war. "We were looking for a home base for a few days while visiting picturesque towns along the Rhine and Moselle rivers, Rhens seemed like a quiet little town near the train and bus services, and one of its rare hotels is Akzent Hotel Roter Ochse. Built in 1699, we expected the hotel to show some age, but our room, upper right on the top floor, was fully renovated, clean, and quiet. We found it modest but enchanting. The hotel is run by a third generation hotelier with family on site. All of our requests and questions were met with calm competence by every single person we engaged. We felt supported, not just "served" by them. Management is simply top notch. Due to our daily travel schedules, we did not eat at the Roter Ochse's restaurant, but based on the unique look of the facility and the wonderful smells emanating from it each morning, it was our loss. Imagine taking breakfast on an indoor/outdoor restaurant patio bound on one side by a 6 century old town wall. Note that there is no elevator in this three century old building. If stairs are an issue, try to book on the ground or lower floor. We loved Hotel Roter Ochse and the town of Rhens. We're already dreaming of returning some day. Rooms: 5"

"Great hotel, friendly staff and a great breakfast buffet! The only downside to the hotel was it was along a busy highway and to get to the center you have to walk along this busy highway for a few blocks until you get to the underpass one way or bridge the other way to get over to the center. It was hard to find an hotel in the center, but this hotel did the job as it was on the perimeter."

"This is a wonderful hotel set on a hill next to the vineyards … family run, their attention to detail shone everywhere. Check-in was pleasant and efficient. Our room was large and clean, as was the up-to-date bathroom attached. We had a small balcony off our room that was perfect to sit with a cold drink after arrival (though there are plenty of additional welcoming spots both inside and outside the hotel). We have enjoyed a fabulous dinner that evening in their on-site restaurant- the stuffed zucchini was one of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever had and the white asparagus was amazing. Breakfast was also quite good and the staff did an excellent job keeping everything filled and tables cleaned. Highly recommend!"
