"We had a wonderful few days at Aquila Porto Rethymno. The property is beautiful and well maintained and with many additional facilities and games than expected. We went mid-June and had a wonderful time at the pool and beach, easily finding chairs, however, the drinks service was slow. The breakfast spread was delicious and plentiful. Very convenient location with easy walking distance to town."

"Great stay for our old town desires. Parking can be a pain BUT I would say it’s a better situation here then most hotel options that don’t offer onsite parking - we always were able to find parking Breakfast was good, location was great. Having a pool was great for my toddler. Ac got freezing in our room which was nice."

"Lovely place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking can be difficult to find at certain times of day, but usually you find something. Pool was lovely. Rooms cleaned well, towels for pool provided. Coffee shops/bakeries, supermarket, laundromat at the end of the street. Lots of sets of approx 2-5 steps throughout the property, so although not multi-storey, is a bit of a work out managing luggage. Thanks for a great stay, I wouldn't hesitate to come back again."

"I don't buy into the negative reviews about Elina Hotel and Apartments. These are likely outdated, as we spent 8 nights here and didn't experience any problems. The superior apartment was bright, spacious and clean, with a good shower and good air conditioning. Despite being next to a busy road, the windows had good sound protection, so we were not bothered by any noise from outside. The reception staff were always polite and helpful. Our room was cleaned every 2 or 3 days, and it was easy to change towels or top up on bathroom accessories between cleans. The location is absolutely ideal, being 5 minutes walk from a superb beach and 5 minutes walk from the start of the Old Town, there are dozens of local amenities, including supermarkets, bakeries, cafes and bars, all within easy walking distance. I would definitely stay here again."

"Lovely Staff and cute inner courtyard with a tiny cold pool that no one seems to use! My room was older but cute with a safe and a tiny internal balcony useful for drying swimsuit: The location couldn’t be better. I didn’t have breakfast but every morning the lovely staff filled my water bottle with filtered water from their bar. Cannot complain for the price for central town. If you want spanking new with bright white towels and a brand new bathroom this is not for you. The shower was a little “tired” with limescale and no door but it wasn’t as important to me as a cosy space to rest while exploring Rethymo. Opposite the restaurant and just up the street towards the olive bar is a lovely jewellery and art shop that sold original pieces so reasonable and much nicer than the Chinese tat in town!"

"My daughter and I stayed at the Veneto Boutique Hotel during our trip to Crete, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed by the staff, whose warmth and hospitality helped make our stay memorable. One of the things we loved most was the hotel's unique character. Staying in a beautifully restored historic building in the heart of Rethymno's Old Town gave us a much richer experience than staying in a typical hotel. The atmosphere was charming, peaceful, and full of history, yet the rooms were comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. The location could not have been better. We enjoyed wandering through the narrow streets of the Old Town, exploring local shops, visiting historic sites, and walking to the harbor, all just steps from the hotel. After busy days of sightseeing, it was wonderful to return to the quiet courtyard and relax. Traveling with my daughter, I especially appreciated how safe, welcoming, and comfortable the hotel felt. The staff was always happy to answer questions, offer recommendations, and help us make the most of our time in Rethymno. Looking back on our Greece trip, the Veneto Boutique Hotel stands out as one of our favorite places to stay. It offered the perfect combination of history, comfort, location, and exceptional service. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Crete."
