Casa Theros Maroulas

Maroulas is located approximately 10 kilometers away from the city of Rethymno, at an altitude of 240 meters, in a densely populated area of olive trees, with an unobstructed view of the Cretan sea. The Minoan artifacts found, such as a late Minoan cemetery with carved tombs, reveal that the area was inhabited since the Minoan period. The settlement, with its present form, dates back to the 13th century and has a fortified layout and distinctive architecture.
In addition to the archaeological finds, visitors can admire a plethora of other sights, tastes, scents of herbs and flowers, walks in this unique village, in narrow streets, arches, and towers, which are unique throughout Crete.
