Amazing place to stay in a great location! The pool and spa is a very nice space with a sauna and shower steam room. The room was spacious and they were flexible in cleaning it after our unpredictable wake up hours. The front desk graciously printed documents for my son who was there to attend college in Rennes. Excellent location, Facilities and staff.

Our second visit, and it definitely won't be our last. Another brilliant stay. The staff are really helpful and we're able to answer any questions we had. The room and other facilities, including the pool and spa, are fantastic and a real bonus in a city centre hotel. Already looking forward to next time!

The location is very good, with many restaurants nearby and a supermarket within about a 10-minute walk. The apartment is convenient for exploring the area. There are a few areas that could be improved. The shower drainage was quite slow, causing water to accumulate during use, and the shower pressure was weaker than expected. We stayed on the second floor and experienced noticeable noise from the street and surrounding area late into the night, sometimes until around 2:00 a.m. The lighting throughout the apartment was also quite dim, especially in the evening. Overall, the apartment is in a convenient neighborhood, but guests who are sensitive to noise or prefer brighter lighting may wish to consider these points before booking.

Excellent stay, we booked the XL room and it was very big. Bar and restaurant plus dining option around are perfect. Only comment would be to improve the darkness in the room as the curtains are very shorts and lots of light is passing through

Having seen this property under renovation for a while, we were curious to see the result, which is pretty impressive. The property includes the hotel, restaurant, roof-top bar, spa, pool, reception rooms, and a large inner courtyard. The design is creative and staff are very professional. Not sure about the use of space in our room, but the bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning much appreciated in the summer heat.

fantastic hotel and have stayed before great central location. Great pool sauna steam room facilities. amazing layout of hotel and rooftop bar with restaurant. Great courtyard to relax in the Sun. very safe and private location. I would say the only downfall to this hotel is no tea/coffee facilities or kettle in the room and towels and bottled water not refreshed daily. overall a fantastic hotel and would stay again. Big thanks to Emily and Julian for making our stair great.

Almost everything about this hotel is first class! The location is wonderfully central. The decor is quirky and fun. The staff is friendly (and speak English!). Dogs are allowed. My room was HUGE! After having a teeny tiny room in Paris, where I couldn’t even fit a stroller through the door, I was determined to have a comfortably-sized room this time…and I did. It was the Large Mama Double. The only negative was they didn’t offer room service. But, that is just a minor observation. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

General impression is more then ok. But my bed was hard, I am used to sleep in a boxspring at home, so having a matrass in a wooden box is much too hard for me, however the matrass is good quality. The restaurant is amazing, breakfast gives you all you want (including pancakes), for dinner try the crusty cod it is delicious

We had tried Mama Shelter in Dijon, and the one in Rennes didn't disappoint. Really great location and amenities. Minor thing to make it better from an inclusivity perspective is making it abundantly clear that when booking a slot at the pool, other people from other rooms can also book the same slot. Other venues with similar amenities make it clearer and it makes a world of difference. One of our party is autistic and went through the challenge of interacting with the staff member, purchased a pair of flip flop (mandatory gear), only to have to do a u-turn when reaching the pool and discovering there were other people there.

Not what I signed up for…but that’s life!

I was really looking forward to my stay at Mama Shelter particularly for the amenities…which seem to champion eco friendliness over the comfort of the clientele. There is no hair conditioner (even upon request), which is not only a first in my Mama Shelter experiences but I find unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. The wonderful overhead shower heads lacked pressure because of a necessity to clean the calcification after a year and a half of operation… to the point where I actually would have done it myself if I was staying for more than a night. The staff was lovely, following their orders but all issues were simple met with “that’s our culture at Mama Shelter” which, from my experience, is not entirely true so felt like a bit of a cop out. The cocktail on the rooftop was definitely the highlight. I had to send my steak back to be cooked a little (ordered at rare/medium rare it came out still breathing and poorly presented). The staff though were very kind and accommodating to the best of their abilities! I appreciated their efforts to rectify my complaint with a late check out as well as rescheduling my hour in the spa, because apparently at this spa/pool they allow children to run free so it’s not the relaxing environment it could be. The breakfast definitely compensated for the above hiccups and the kindness of the staff of course who was just doing their job as best they could. Although I don’t know if I will stay at Mama Shelter again if this is their new “culture”.
