About this property
Dosbach Vacation Apartment
Welcome to the Dosbach Holiday Rental! Our beautiful apartment is located in the heart of Reit im Winkl and was newly built in 2018. With a deep appreciation for the town’s traditions, we built our country house with great attention to detail. The building contains three apartments; we—the owners, Gundi and Johann—live on the ground floor. There are two holiday apartments on the ground floor. We manage this small, 48-square-meter apartment ourselves and strive to make it as comfortable and cosy as possible for our guests, helping to ensure a relaxing holiday. In addition to the various booking platforms where you can find us, you also have the option to book directly with us. To do so, please simply contact us directly at: 01724164579 or glasjg@t-online.de. Arrive and feel right at home! Your apartment is located on the ground floor of a rustic country house built in 2018. You’ll love the warm atmosphere created by the hardwood floors, the exposed roof beams, and the cosy furnishings. From the spacious living, dining, and kitchen area, you have access to your own balcony with a view of the garden and the mountains. Enjoy a morning coffee here in the sun before you set out for an eventful day. The sleeping area is accessible through an open passageway. The comfortable box-spring bed, with its traditional Bavarian red-and-white chequered bedding, invites you to drift off to sleep. From there, you’ll find your bathroom, featuring a walk-in shower, a separate toilet, and a large wooden shelf for all your toiletries. You’ll also find a hot water bottle there for cold days. Our ski storage room is located in the basement, where you can store your skis. We have a secure spot for your bicycles in the carport. Your parking spot is located directly on the property, to the left of the fence. I’d heard of Reit im Winkl before through Rosi Mittermaier or the Hellwigs, but I didn’t know where it was. In hindsight, that was a big mistake, because it meant I discovered this sunny high valley on the edge of the Alps too late. Our friends originally thought we were stuck in the middle of nowhere—until they visited us! Reit im Winkl has an incredibly attractive location. About 1.5 hours from Munich, 1 hour from Salzburg, and 30 minutes from Kitzbühel, it’s strategically well-placed for taking trips to these very different cities. Salzburg Airport is only 45 minutes away. We still experience distinct seasons here. Winter still brings freezing temperatures and glistening snow. The cross-country ski trail is right in the centre of town, and you can easily reach the neighbouring ski areas by car or ski bus. The Steinplatte, for example, is very expansive, well-groomed, and features many cosy mountain huts with food and drink service. Fun on the slopes and lively hut parties included. Cross-country skiing events like the “Rauszeit,” and our winter market from December through February! I—Gundi Glas—was born between the seas in the north, and that’s where I met my husband Johann in 1981. A Bavarian from Ammersee, he had come with his employer to the outskirts of Hamburg, where we met for the first time. It quickly became clear to us that we wanted to walk our future path together—but where to? He wanted to return to Bavaria at some point, and I was still tied to Hamburg for work. So I promised him that we’d return to his homeland at a later date. That turned into 36 years in the north, until he reminded me of my promise. So we spent nearly two years searching for something that was right for us. Until we came across a plot of land in the middle of this enchanting high valley and then built our home there. That was nine years ago—and we’ve never regretted it. Even though saying goodbye to our family, our longtime friends, our house by the lake built in 2005, and simply my home was accompanied by many tears. But as the saying goes: Where there is shadow, there is also light! And whenever we drive over the Maserer Pass into the village
