Recommend ripping carpets and having hvac ducts cleaned. There is a mold/mildew smell that’s constant and disruptive with a comfortable stay. Customer service was great.

Staff were pleasant. Property and room was clean. Staff said the hotel was not busy but the only rooms available were on the second floor, the stairs were an easy grade but this could be a problem for someone with mobility issues as there is no elevator. Otherwise everything was fine. Breakfast was good.

Hidden gem close to the beach

We were headed to the beach and were unable to find a room so we opt for a room close enough to drive in the next day. Found this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised! Alice greeted us at the front desk and gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner across the street. The next morning Norma was a complete whirlwind of customer service as she maintained breakfast and took care of departing guest! I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels. Having employees who care about their jobs is priceless and made our last minute trip to the beach on a holiday weekend well worth it! Hotel is in great condition and well- maintained. Thank you!

I recently stayed at Best Western Refugio Inn and overall, my experience was okay. The highlight of the stay was definitely the hot breakfast, which was a nice touch to start the day. However, there were a few downsides worth mentioning. Firstly, the property does not have an elevator, so guests with heavy luggage should be prepared for that. I encountered some issues during check-in due to my booking through Expedia, but the staff was quite helpful and called to resolve the matter promptly. One concern I had was with housekeeping. They knocked on our door at 9 AM while we were still asleep. When I declined their service, the housekeeper unnecessarily informed me that check-out time was at 11 AM. I believe it would be more considerate for housekeeping to wait until at least 10:30 AM before knocking on doors. Overall, while the stay had its positives, I think some adjustments could enhance the guest experience.

No staff at front desk. Had to pick phone to call staff. Pool green not maintained correctly. We only stay one night but never saw any front desk agent but when use phone to call. I plan on staying there next week. Room ok exect tub drain. Pool could not go for a swim.
