"Pictures really don’t do this place justice. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Waking up in the morning to horses, the mountains & a waterfall was something I'll never forget. The room was very spacious and felt cozy. Check in was easy. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. "

"From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. The staff were always attentive and friendly while still being down to earth. Both breakfast and dinner were just lovely, with locally sourced ingredients and creative cocktails. The sauna and yoga room proved necessary at the end of each day of hiking and exploring the area - it’s so close to Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Solheimajökull, Reynisfjara, and Vik. This is a beautiful property, with awe-inspiring scenery from every angle, so bring your camera. The walk to the beach takes a bit longer than they say, but it’s worth it. We got lucky early on our first evening with a short but unexpected burst of aurora activity - just standing outside looking at the stars in the right place at the right time! - but they do have a wake-up service for anyone wishing to see the northern lights when they start up. My only (minor) demerit was for the bed comfort, but it’s certainly not the worst I’ve had in Iceland or anywhere else in Europe, so it’s barely worth mentioning. I will definitely return to UMI! <3"

"Wonderful and unique place to stay. Make sure to get the igloo with the bathroom. We were surprised how clear the dome was to see the stars and we were so lucky to see an incredible aurora from the comfort of our bed. "

"The cabin was cozy, quiet, comfortable, and clean. Agust was a wonderful host and we enjoyed talking with him at breakfast. He made our stay memorable and we learned a lot about Iceland. Highly recommended!"
