The location is great for what it is, but property maintenance is lacking. Our shower dripped all night, some outlets didn’t work, and the fridge did not get cold. There was a roof leak in the lobby that they had a bucket under, and the bucket was full of mold.
Common areas were not welcoming or attractive. Very limited food and beverage options - particularly challenging if your workday is long. For the room rate ($175/night), hotel amenities were disappointing.

We were so excited that we were able to check in early at 2pm. Check in was smooth. We went to enter room and key did not work. Also sounded like that room was already occupied. We went back to the front desk. Come to find out, someone did in fact check into that room the night before. First words out of the concierge’s mouth was, “We can’t give you a discount and we are fully booked. The best thing we can do is put you in a similar room that is handicap accessible”. This was a reasonable solution that we accepted however the notion that we were going to request a discount was extremely offensive and unnecessary. This set the tone for our whole weekend. The property overall was okay. Our automatic blinds did not work so we had to sleep with the parking lot light shining in on us. The food area was closed on the weekends. Overall we wouldn’t stay here again. Not the worst place but certainly not our most pleasant experience.
I stayed three nights at the Lodge at Duke Medical Center. My stay was pleasant from check-in to check-out. The room and hotel presented to be clean. I was in town for a festival and found the location to be convenient. There was plenty of FREE parking available.
The only problem we had in our stay was that our room had an adjoining room with a double locked door between but the neighbor in the adjoining room was very loud and kept us awake during the night. Need more sound proofing.
Very close to Duke Medical Center. My room needs updating, paint on walls bubbling in bathroom, window shades did not work properly, had to ask for a bedside light,
Front desk was very helpful and pleasant.
Pros: hot water available 24/7, comfortable bed & chair
Cons: window cannot be opened/AC is not enough for refresh air, no laundry, one of two elevators is under construction

Very convenient to Duke University Hospital within short walking distance. Shuttle service starts 7 Am. so I did't use it. It took too long to wait outside hospital for shuttle after surgery, so my friend walked back to the property and drove our car to pick me.
Very friendly staff, rooms are modern and clean, bath and shower have been remolded. defiantly would stay again and will the next visit to Duke Hospital.
It was quiet and walkable to Dule University Hospital. Staff was friendly and attentive

The doors slam really hard, and I was located near the elevator and the bell for elevator mixed with the many slamming doors did not allow for adequate sleep before my first and concerning appointment at Duke Cancer Center.
The Lodge was having one of the two elevators worked on. 8am they started to jack hammer right by our room. As we were using other elevator concrete peices fell into our elevator striking my wife in the head. Staff said they were sorry. It just started today.
We chose this hotel to see doctors at Duke University. The location was perfect. The hotel offered shuttle rides to and from the clinic.
The driver was very courteous and so was the hotel staff. Rooms were nice, new and very clean.
The rooms were clean with all the modern amenities you’d expect. Beds were comfortable. Mini-fridge and microwave in the room. Staff was friendly. Hotel was close to Duke University and right across the street from the VA Hospital and the Duke Medical Center.
My only complaints were the very low water pressure in the shower and the fact that we could hear everything the people in the adjoining room said or did (and they weren’t being loud). We had one of those rooms with a connecting door and there clearly was absolutely no insulation in that door to keep the sound out. We could not hear any noise in the room on the other side of us, so it seems like the problem was the connecting door.
