"I’ve been staying at Park Hotel since 2007. It’s a nice, cozy place, with excellent value for the money. Very quiet for being situated in the middle of the city. Nice surrounding park. Free private parking. It’s been constantly upgraded, but not really up to date. Breakfast is not included, it’s pricey and lacking. The restaurant menu is surprisingly poor. "

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Racoș?
The best area to stay in Racoș is generally around the village centre or in properties offering views of the volcanic basalt columns.

Visitors looking for a tranquil rural escape and a base for exploring the natural wonders will find the village centre convenient. It's a small community, so most accommodations are within easy reach of local amenities and offer a glimpse into traditional Romanian village life. This area is particularly suited for couples or solo travellers seeking a peaceful retreat.

For those prioritising natural beauty and unique geological formations, properties located closer to the Racoș Basalt Columns and the Emerald Lake offer unparalleled access. Imagine waking up to views of these impressive natural monuments right on your doorstep.
When is the best time to go to Racoș?
The best time to go to Racoș is during the shoulder seasons of late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

These months offer comfortable temperatures, ideal for exploring the natural attractions and historical sites without the peak summer heat or the chill of winter. You'll find the landscapes are at their most picturesque, with lush greenery in spring and vibrant colours in autumn.

For those planning to spend time outdoors, perhaps hiking or visiting the geological formations, these periods are perfect. The weather is generally stable, making it easier to plan your days without significant disruption from rain or extreme temperatures.
