Beautiful rural retreat

A beatifully renovated old building in a quiet location 400m from the road. The owners also run a stud farm. The rooms are named after horses. Our receptionist spoke no English, but all the other staff we met did. (That is not unusual for Normandy. You need basic French.) But our reception was charming, and we were shown to a very spacious first floor bedroom with a six foot, firm and comfortable bed, easy chairs and a table, tastefully decorated in blue and yellow, and a large bathroom with double wash basins, and bath - the shower was over the bath. Niggles. The shower bracket was loose. The pillows were lumpy (we took our own!). Towels were tiny. Breakfast is extra, and was an elegantly presented Continental breakfast. Adequate. But had we been stayong longer than our three nights it would not have had sufficient variety. And staff were not easy to find - for a spoon, say, or fresh coffee. Location. You need a car. Good for the Seine estuary and the Lower Normandy coastline. We visited Honfleur, Bayeux, and the very pretty village of Beuvron. The hotel serves only breakfast, but there are restaurants in the nearby villages of Beuzeville to the east and Pont L'Eveque to the west. This is very much a bed and breakfast establishment, not a full service hotel. It is closed during some winter months.

Une escapade de week-end dans l'arrière pays d'Honfleur. Les chevaux, le calme, la campagne... Paradisiaque. Seul petit bémol s'il faut en donner un : le petit déjeuner qui est très simple pour 14 €

le seul reproche que je pourrai faire est la douche qu'on a un peu de mal à régler au niveau température et le débit est faible mais peut être que c'est le fait d'être dans les chambres du bas!!

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful location. Excellent accommodation, very clean and well maintained. Good choice of food for breakfast and would have been nice to have dinner available. Friendly and courteous service. Gardens lovely with plenty of outside seating. Would certainly visit again and happy to recommend the hotel

Endroit charmant

Le personnel de l'hotel est charmant et attentionné. Néanmoins l'accueil n'est pas ouvert très longtemps, et il convient de prévenir en cas d'arrivée tardive. La gérante nous avait appelé pour nous prévenir et nous expliquer comment entrer dans notre chambre en son absence. Le lieu est magnifique, apaisant. La chambre est confortable mais la déco un peu vieillotte à notre goût. Je recommande cet hotel.
