In regards to your sheets, all our linen is washed offsite in between check outs so I can assure you it was clean however some sheets are slightly older than others which can cause discolouring over time. Kia Ora, I am sorry to hear about your disappointment with parking upon arrival and equally understand your frustrations. This is an ongoing problem for most central accommodation providers as there is a lack of free parking in Queenstown however our friendly team are always on hand to point you in the right direction. This again is subject to availability and with last weekend being the school holidays and opening weekend of the Remarkable's Mountain it was certainly a busy one! We do not advertise free parking on our website or via Expedia however it does read free parking, street parking 1km walking distance. I appreciate your feedback in regards to this information and I have our awesome operations team looking into this to ensure any parking information is correctly displayed across all platforms. I would also like to mention that alternatively our sisterly hostel YHA Lakefront has a small onsite car park that again is subject to availability. In regards to your dorm room and amenities we provide hand soap and bath mats however towels, soap and shampoo are available at reception for as little as a $1. Our private rooms on the other hand are provided with towels upon check in and again you can hire any extra's for $1. Thank you again for your feedback, best wishes and safe onward travels. Hi Kristine, Thank you for your well rounded review. I am pleased you had a good stay with us here at YHA Queenstown Central. Queenstown is renowned for its booming tourism industry and with so many options for adrenaline filled activities, scenic views, culture and tasty eats it is a bucket list destination for many. I am glad you picked up one of our awesome YHA international 1YR memberships allowing you to get 10% off of any of your YHA Bookings -worldwide! Oh and not forgetting the ample amount of discounts on various activities and restaurants too! I am happy to hear you found your room clean and spacious- We are lucky that all of our rooms here are ensuite and this is because this YHA was previously part of the ‘Old Mountaineer Hotel’, one of Queenstown's first hotels to date. The main reason for our kitchen opening and closing hours is due to eliminating noise for the surrounding rooms however we do have to get it cleaned in this time too. We do try our best to minimise any noise as much as possible and apologise for any disturbance caused to you during your stay. Kia ora! Thanks for your comments. I can understand your finding it hot in your room - this summer has been much hotter than expected. We do not usually have a need for air conditioning so we are all struggling quite a bit! We do have fans available at reception though so in the future, please feel free to ask our staff. It's great to read that you enjoyed your stay otherwise - giving our guests a clean and comfortable environment is a very high priority for us!

We are slowly working on upgrading our hostel with several new bathrooms upgraded this year, and lots more work scheduled for the coming year. As you mention, our location is fantastic and really allows for our guests to take advantage of all that Queenstown has to offer. We are lucky to have everything on our door step! Our staff work hard to make things as comfortable as possible for our guests so it's nice to hear that this was your experience. As you mention, the shower pressure is a temporary issue - we are working to get this fixed as quickly as possible. I always appreciate feedback regarding this sort of thing though, so thanks!
