It was a nice hotel and a clean place to stay. The layout of the hotel is confusing and the front desk does not do a very good job explaining how to get around.

We stayed 3 nights and it was a perfect location for us. It is about a 5 minute walk from downtown Queenstown and the walk into the town is along a beautiful walking path that leads right to the lake. Upon checkin we were given a plethora of great information, how to park (we paid the extra $15 a night for garage access that you can come and go from as much as you like otherwise you can play the game of free street parking) and a bellman met us in the parking garage to show us to our room because the property is sprawling and quite large and can be hard to find your way at times. The room was big enough for us not to feel cramped for our 3 nights. We have a stunning view right outside on the ground level of mountains and the lake. One of our favorite spots to end the night was the restaurant/lounge up top that showed more beautiful views. The food was good, gave enough choices and the bar was easy. The staff was incredibly lovely and accommodating! Would certainly stay here again.

Room full of Mosquitos. Says lake front but far away from it. No water available. Shows cheapness of management style everywhere. Staff did their best to compensate but it’s not your money .worth

We were checked into a big room with the spectacular view of lake waikatipu. Convenient location, a quick 5-min walking distance to Queenstown centre for our morning coffee. Overall a lovely experience!

The room had a great lake view. The hotel was old and not very clean. Plumbing was poor. Very few services, couldn’t get a coffee mid-afternoon.

The lake and surrounding mountains are extremely beautiful. The location is quiet and calm. Just a few minutes walk to good restaurants, stores, hiking and bicycle trails. Really enjoyed our stay there.

This was obviously once a very nice hotel but it is in great need of some tlc. Rooms are a good size, bathrooms old and in need of renovation. Fabulous views from our room. Laundry facilities good. The whole place needs a lick of paint!

The areas of the hotel that were on the main floor were light enough, but there are weird block arms of the hotel that jut out downstairs that created long, dark hallways to get to the rooms. We had a suite on the lake which had beautiful views of the mountains and was very comfortable But dated. The staff were very friendly, the showers strong with good water pressure (but backed up into the bathroom) and the hotel is very convenient to town.

Large rooms, need to request a quiet room, easy walk to town, good dining experience with friendly staff. Breakfast buffet at $35 is NOT worth it. Poor selection and horrible coffee. There are excellent coffee machines on the market

The property is in a great location a block away from the beach and about five minutes from downtown Queenstown! The one negative I have about the property is the Wi-Fi. It was completely unusable, I just relied on my cell phone service. I would not stay here again based on how bad the Wi-Fi was.

Service at the main desk was great. The hotel is in serious needs of some upgrades. Even some fresh paint. Very dated. Took a while for our room to be cleaned. Had to do a reminder late afternoon.

The only thing that was a disappointment was there was no A/C in the room so it was a bit too warm at night. Otherwise it was a great stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Centrally located, very easy for shopping, activities, dining etc. Within walkable distance. Room was clean, staff were very friendly and professional. View from the room is exceptional closer to the lake - overall it was great experience, I definitely recommend this property for short visits.

Nice hotel great views bring your own water
The water in Queenstown was not drinkable but the hotel only provided one bottle of water per stay which in out case was 4 days. A bottle of water was not sufficient for this time. They said that the bottle could be topped up at the bar which was closed both times i tried. A new bottle of water should have been provided for each days stay

My stay at the Copthorne Hotel and Resort in Queenstown was exceptionally pleasant, highlighted by some truly outstanding features. The view from my room was breathtaking, providing a scenic backdrop that made every moment special. The bed deserves a special mention for being the most comfortable one I experienced during my entire trip in New Zealand, ensuring restful nights. The hotel itself exuded a peaceful atmosphere, complemented by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, which added to the overall positive experience. Its location is ideal, being just a 5-minute stroll from the main parts of Queenstown and a 10-minute walk to the Skyline, making it convenient for exploring the city.
