"This is meant to be a 5* hotel. I would say there were elements of 5*, 4* and 3*. The staff were the best thing about the hotel - they really tried hard to make up for the dated nature of the property . The room was nice - had all that you would expect and lovely views of the bay. However, it was a bit rough around the edges but I expected that after reading the reviews. I was happy overall as I paid what I considered to be a fair price. Would I stay again - yes but it wouldn’t be my first choice . I stayed in March when a lot of the other boutique hotels are closed."

"The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed including tea/coffee making, safe, fridge. The pool was unheated but clean and a great bonus! We had a great stay at a very reasonable price. Good breakfast and very comfortable. "

"Fabulous helpful staff, good food. Construction in the area makes walking in the neighborhood challenging. Renovations on site meant noise during daytime hours. Especially appreciated the help from Edgar to plan our daily excursions. "

"The weather was not so good with several days of rain and the hotel has 7 separate blocks so to get to reception or the dining room means getting wet. The dinning room was a bit soulless and the buffet food was often cold. Being out of season the other food outlets were not open and there were no restaurants or bars within walking distance."
