Very cute place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay here, it was very clean and just like the pictures showed. We loved the private pool and the surroundings. Only issue was finding how to get to the place late at night after a long flight, but once we found it we enjoyed our stay.

Awesome stay

Went for my honeymoon and had an amazing stay. The owner gave me suggestions on what to do on the island. Enjoyed coming back every evening to this place. Had a nice pool to relax in as well.

What a little gem! Great find!

Stayed 3 nights at the Chalet de Tahiti and could not have been more pleased! The property was an excellent value and had everything we needed. We were completely fine with the microwave and cooktop no need for oven. Bathroom and shower were just spacious enough. Bed super comfy and AC worked brilliantly. Pool was big and clean and we just loved it! Thanks Freddy for all the help

I would give a 2 because of disrepair and bad bed

The pool was very nice. But the place was in disrepair and needed a lot of TLC. The shower needs fixing , cabinet doors are coming off. The worst thing for us was the bed, it was a hard box spring, very difficult sleeping on it. Freddy’s wife was very nice and helpful.

Charming

Charmingly decorated, all we needed for our 2 day stay. We were not able to enjoy the pool and patio due to the weather, but it looks lovely. Property is on the hillside, giving wonderful views, but making getting around a little more complicated. We walked down the hill one evening and took a taxi back after dark (not easy to arrange this, but locals helped us out!). Air-conditioning in the upstairs bedroom was great, but we were a little warm downstairs when confined inside because of rain. Previous reviews about stairs are certainly something to be considered. We had no trouble but were extremely careful going up and down.

Amazing Property with Spectacular Views

Our stay at this property was amazing. It was a little tricky to find with the taxi driver, but with the directions the host provided, it was simple once we got to the right road. My husband and I were ending our long trip in Tahiti, and were looking for respite from the busy week we had had. It was perfectly secluded, quiet, peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and watching the sunset outside. The property was clean and had everything we needed and more. Close enough to town that it’s a short drive away, but far enough that it’s quiet and remote. We enjoyed our host, Freddy very much and he was very helpful. Ordered us a taxi early in the morning for the flight home too. Very convenient to have the property owner on site at the house next door, so if there were any issues we could have reached out. We would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. It’s good for a one night stay or one week, whatever you want. Thank you Freddy.

Interesting Design and Very Private

We had a great stay in this property. It’s an eclectic and interesting design, well-suited for an adult couple. Beware that local taxis have no idea where this place is.

One night wasn’t enough!

We spent out last night on the island here and wished for many more. Cozy, romantic and relaxing are the words that come to mind. Host could not have been more hospitable. Bring a nice bottle of wine and prepare to be swept away. Highly recommend!

This property is a complete delight! So unique and fun. I loved all of the art and little details. This is not your ordinary stay. If you have trouble with stairs, this is NOT the place for you, but otherwise it is a little slice of heaven. I wish we had more time to stay. Thank you for the hospitality.

The sleeping arrangement was good with nice bed and AC upstairs. The shower room is an interesting work in progress. The kitchen worked if coffee was the only thing you needed. Otherwise it was a quaint “storybook” type setting in need of a little TLC.

Freddy is an amazing host. Very responsive and welcoming. He gave us tons of advices on how to spend our time on Tahiti, he replied almost instantly. The chalet appears bigger than on the photos. We found bedroom quite spacious. Perfect for a couple, maybe suitable for a small family. It had everything we needed: fridge, shower, w/c, air conditioner, coffee machine but don't hesitate to ask Freddy if you have specific requirements. The chaplet is a marvel and you can feel so much soul in it! Being a wooden construction it has all comfort of the home. Very cozy. We must specifically mention the area around the house, it's huge with a beautiful pool and lots of setups to enjoy your time. All yours with a perfect privacy even though Freddy is living close by and highly available. We enjoyed every minute staying there and would def like to return. Cheers, Freddy ❤️🙏

Stay local - ditch the generic hotels

Our own pool, no bugs, really clean, great towels, privacy, views to the horizon from the pool and quiet at night with a dark, peaceful, airconditioned bedroom. Freddy was so helpful with all the photo's to get to our accommodation - and we did it at 2am. So if you are looking during the day - its a snack. But do print and take the paper copy of the photos with you. Puna'avia was a lovely village to stay. Out of the busier Papeete and a fabulous Le Plage restaurant for lunch and (some) dinners. Thank you so much to Amandine for a lovely chat whilst at the pool - whilst our French wasnt amazing - we are glad your English was. Highly recommend if you like local connection, very clean, private accommodation with authenticity and charm, have your own way to get around and enjoy the peace of your own pool and views. Live like a local - i highly encourage you to experience this lifestyle. x
