The location right on the beach is great, especially that it is the largest one in the area. However, not the best for surfing, punta uva is better. The open air kitchen has everything and works great. We had the double bunk room and it was very comfortable but a bit small, overall fine! About 2min bike from grocery which is great, and ~8min from downtown Puerto Viejo. Unfortunatly the hostel restaurant prices (and drinks) are too high for the backpacker crowd, so the only social happens in the kitchen/eating area. I would suggest the hostel bring their prices down and most likely make more on volume. Would have loved too have some beers/food there, but prices were better elsewhere. Overall, it was a great week and we would recommend!
Front desk & staff were great with answering questions, helping with a lock out, and more. Room was clean and easy to access and the location was super convenient to the activities I was doing on the beach. Would stay again.
The hostel is nice and well kept. AC and wifi is great! Hostel food and bar is a bit pricey, but food was great! Bike rental on premise and close to other beaches and restaurants. Staff was super nice too. Definitely recommend!
Staff were great! 1st “deluxe” private room with bathroom smelled terrible, so I had to move out. They were very nice about moving me to another smaller room, ok. AC, no fan. You can hear all conversations in the hall and rooms next door. Expensive at $60-70 for a private room! Restaurant and bar expensive too. But most people stayed in dorm rooms for $19 a night, a good deal. Common kitchen and areas to hang out. no amenities, not even shampoo. safe parking worked for 2-3 cars.

Great experience ! Good location. I was impressed by how clean is kept. The kitchen is excellent! It has all kind of pans, utensils, everything! And is impeccable at all
times ;) What made the difference was Alonso and Alejandra at the front desk. They are exceptionally helpful, friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to help you. Even Freddy at the bar! Thank you all! You guys made my stay better. I will definitely come back.
Had an absolute blast at Playa 506. The location straight on the beach is incredible, both for just going out for a swim but also to watch the incredible sunrises in the morning. The women in the reception are also so helpful and kind. There was a party in Bocos, Panama, the weekend I was staying but the vibe was still cool, the Sunday when people were coming back it became straight away even more social which was a nice way to finish off my stay. The only downer for this place is that there’s no free coffee in the morning. The facilities are also alright, I’ve been to hostels with better/cleaner kitchen facilities but it was still alright. Would highly recommend to stay!
This was a good pic. One of the few hostels in front of the beach at Playa Cocles. Walking distance to public beaches, restaurants and stores. The staff was friendly. Food was somewhat pricey, though. However, the room was clean and a good value for what we paid for.
Beautiful property with appealing decor inside and out. The restaurant /bar has a great location on the beach, including shaded areas to hang out in hammocks and on covered platforms. Food and drinks were great! Can’t beat the location. We rode hotel bikes along the Main Street to explore more sites. Staff (Alejandra) was very welcoming, energetic and helpful. We were so pleased with everything! Bonus: we had a brand new mattress as they are updating rooms. Lucky for me! 😁 It was very comfortable! Overall Quiet, comfy, and lovely! Wish we could have stayed longer. I’d gladly visit again! Thank you, Hotel 506 for making my trip to Puerto Viejo an unforgettable memory!
There is a lot to do in puerto viejo. Different restaurants and a market not far. Playa 506 is directly on the beach which is great and it’s beautiful. Located near other hostels which is nice. Everything is walkable, or you can rent a bike, or scooters, or taxi. I like that the hostel had a restaurant/ bar very combined when other places in town were not open as early.

The staff was extremely unhelpful to almost everyone I encountered. Bordering on rude. It was very noisy. The people above us sounded like they were coming through our floor. We took some friends to eat snacks and get 1 drink at the restaurant and it was outrageously expensive. We ate at Koki twice and it wasn't that expensive. Even though this property has a great location at Playa Cocles, I won't stay here again.

In love. Location close to restaurants, shops and steps from the beach. Great amenities, clean, and very friendly staff. Would def stay there again.
Chambre triple occupation.
