The hotel listing, which, by the way, had an inaccurate map link, showed a 3-star property on the ocean with a pool, hot tub, and restaurant, when in fact, the pool, hot tub and restaurant were closed. There was not a soul on the property who spoke English, and when the desk clerk called his manager who did speak English, the manager was surprised that I was there. He asked if I had a reservation through a travel company, and when I told him that I did, he seemed very surprised--he asked if I had a confirmation on my phone, or if I had a printed voucher. When I told him I had a printed copy, he asked to speak to the desk clerk again. The clerk took me to a very run-down elevator, showed me a room, and when the room did not have an ocean view, I asked to see another. He then showed me a room with a seal attached to the door and frame placed by the Mexican government to prevent entry that read "Clausurado". The location was the only thing the property had going for it. In all honesty, I ended up staying at a downtown Puerto Vallarta hotel that did not have an ocean view, pool, hot tub, or restaurant, and I was much happier!
