Great restaurant but hotel needs improvement

An ok hotel in Puerto Iguazú within a 15-minute walk from the bus terminal. Great rooftop grill restaurant and an ok pool. Nice breakfast. Rooms are quite run-down and would benefit from a renovation.

Nice for a few nights

The hotel was good for a few nights, a little worn down in the room, but service, restaurant, pool and breakfast was good. It was a ten minutes walk to city center and bus station.

Staff is nice and property has in house resturant with limited options but still ok. Property is farther away from the city center so need to walk through the neighborhood. Not in the tourist area. I don't mind staying again.

It has a wonderful view and even though it was a bit far from downtown, there were always taxis in the hotel to take you everywhere you needed. All staff were very nice and eager to help.

Quiet hotel

Nice hotel in quiet neighborhood about 10 minute walk to center. Breakfast was average bunch of breads pastries and fruit. Cleanliness could be better many hairs in bathroom not mine amd staind on bix spring

The room had no refrigerator even though we were told it would. I needed the refrigerator for my medications. One night I wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant and they were having a party and they would not allow me to buy anything. I was very hungry and didn’t want to walk a mile to town. The staff was WONDERFUL. There is a taxi service inside the hotel and they were always accommodating. The morning buffet is excellent. Yes I would stay there again.

The hotel was a long walk to dining or any of the tourist attractions. The hotel itself was wonderful with a nice breakfast. Eggs are $1200ars extra, but worth it. The staff provided bug spray and we were lucky to meet a wonderful taxi driver who picked us up every morning for the Falls and downtown area tours. I wouldn't stay here again since we prefer to walk and tour the city and from this hotel there is nothing to walk to.

I arrived at 11:00 pm and my room wasn’t ready. I was aked to go to town to eat and wait. When the room was assigned it was not as good as expected with fungus on the bathroom, pillows etc. Next day I asked for a room change that was conceded with a better experience with the staff and cleanliness.

We booked the Merit Iguazú for a 2-night stay in Nov. 2024. The hotel was rated 8,6 on Expedia. Our checkin went alright. We got to our room and first thing that struck us was the bad smell. The window was open despite it being a 30C temperature, humid day. I went to close it, thinking maybe the smell came from outside and noticed that the large sliding window did not lock. The mechanism was broken. The whole room looked worn out and in need of renovations. But our concern was that there was a balcony going from room to room. Someone could easily go out his room’s window, walk to our room and get. It was the same as leaving the front door unlocked! We went back to the front desk, explained the situation and they gave us another room. Surprise! The second room had the same issue with the sliding window not locking. We went back and insisted on getting a room with a sliding window that locked. They sent someone to check on rooms and offered us a third room. We got to it with our suitcases and were very disappointed to see that the sliding window did not lock anymore than it did in the first two rooms. Even worse, the sheets were dirty/stained. At that point, we had had enough and figured we would just find another hotel. We went back to the front desk and explained the situation to get a refund. We waited over an hour but never got a refund to this day. We left and check in at Hotel Saint George. Same Expedia rating but so much better. Avoid the Merit Iguazú at all costs.

Staff were nice, let me check in early. Taxi was always available and the price was quite reasonable. Liked the quiet neighborhood. Property looks old. Bed springs looked stained.
