It is an older motel, no elevator so you have to limit what you bring into room (we weren’t dragging cooler upstairs). Doesn’t smell too bad but it’s because they are using fragrances to cover it up. Bed linens stained. I didn’t see any signs of bed bugs though. Pool is tiny and limited to 6 people. Bars on back windows. Very close to the prison.
If there had been another choice we wouldn’t have stayed here. Our original hotel had a plumbing issue and knocked out 22 rooms from service. Sad thing is, it was a much better hotel and the cost was exactly the same as this crappy one, so I didn’t even save any money. Expedia tried 2 other hotels before this one and they were full. So we made the choice to go ahead and stay here rather than check out others that had worse reviews or drive back to Colorado Springs when we had to be up early in the morning the way it was. The only plus so far has been that the water pressure and hot water were far better than any hotel I’ve ever stayed in! If they cleaned it up/updated it, it has potential, other than being next to a prison.
