Luxury Cottage at Sundance Utah-Book Fall Leaf Stay-Walk to Lift and Restaurants

  • This luxury property is a 3 minute walk along the connected pathways to the Sundance Resort Ski Lift, the Owl Bar, and the fabulous Sundance restaurants, the Tree Room and Foundry Grill. You can also walk directly to the new Lodge or outdoor amphitheater for the Blue Bird Cafe series. Once at the cottage and parked you can hike directly on Mt. Timpanogos and up to Stewart Falls or take the Sundance Ski Lift up to hike the mountain. Our cottage is the perfect getaway to enjoy the beauty of Sundance and the fall leaf season on Mt. Timpanogos with easy access to hiking, skiing, Stewart Falls, picnicking, water rafting/tubing on Provo River, fly fishing on Provo River and all things Sundance. Our place is perfect for a romantic getaway for 2, two couples or a small family of 4 - please note our place is not well suited for young toddlers as we do have indoor steps, a fire heated stove in the living room, and small artifacts throughout our cottage.

    You will fall in love with our Sundance luxury cottage under the gaze of Mt Timpanogos. Our 1,000 square feet "Cottage at Sundance" is a luxurious cottage located in the Pines Cottage area at The Sundance Resort. The Cottage is decorated with luxury western decor and modern amenities akin to an upscale hotel. The decor is OG Sundance and contains many homages to Mr. Redford. Enjoy the connected walk pathways to Sundance Village including the ski-lifts, art classes, Spa, the Sundance General Store and the world-famous Sundance Owl Bar and Tree Room, without having to get in your car.

    The Cottage features a kitchen, gas flame pot-belly stove for cozy nights in the living room, 2 LCD TVs (streaming on one TV) and DVD players, stereo with CD player, a large selection of DVDs, high-speed wireless for your laptop to stay in touch with the world, a large luxury slate bathroom with dual sinks and separate large shower, an over-sized 2-person jacuzzi bathtub, and a king-sized bed in the bedroom with luxury linens. Their is a queen-sized sleeper sofa bed and a twin sized "nook" mattress in the cozy living room reading nook. A perfect, romantic stay in the cottage for just two.

    We love to share Sundance and our family cottage with guests who love and appreciate this beautiful mountain and the history of Robert Redford's beloved Sundance.

Sundance is one understated resort on so many levels. Loved that there are not countless retail stores. Food is fabulous at the Sundance lodge and the walk to dinner easy. We did not know about the spa and it was really fabulous. No charge for outdoor pools, barrel sauna, and hot tubs.

Amazing place nestled in Sundance pines

The house was very clean and well taken care of. Quiet at night and beautiful large windows with blackout curtains that worked wonders. Our kids loved the sleeping nook and pull out bed. And we loved the whole place! Plenty of space for a family of 4. Hosts were great communicators and we’d definitely come stay again! Thanks :)

Beautiful and cozy cottage

This is a gem! I've been coming to this area every year for 17 years and this was the first time in awhile that I've stayed anywhere but the actual resort. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Quiet, comfy, decorated in the "old Redford way." Perfect for one or two people. Everything felt like a home away from home and a super easy walk to the resort.

Serene mountain getaway

This place is literally in the heart of Sundance - super close to the restaurants and lift, as well as the hiking trail to Stewart Falls. My wife and I fell in love with the cabin. Quite cozy, super cute, and lots of Sundance charm. Our hosts, Rudy and Kelly, were quite accommodating and gracious. Big thanks to them for making us feel welcome and providing everything we needed. I 100% plan on staying here again.

Great stay

Great little cottage immediately adjacent to Sundance Resort, so it was very convenient for meetings there. Very clean, with a generous bathroom area, a comfortable bed and plenty of amenities. The kitchenette was small but well stocked. We just happened to stay during a stretch where the outdoor temperature was in the 90's, and none of the cottages have a/c, but by opening some windows to catch a breeze and by using a fan that is in the unit, we were able to cool it quite well in the evenings. Looking forward to coming back!!

Upscale cozy

Great place to nest with a loved one and enjoy the mountains. Location is not as ideal as the Cottonwoods or PC but certainly perfect if mother nature abides and crowds are less. Sundance black runs can be as good as any other, though short. Unfortunately, 2025 needs more snow for that to even happen. Still, enjoyed the cabin and it's location to base. Best for couples.

We had a business event at Sundance. Being in the Snow Sports business, we were combining work and play. In lieu of the standard offerings we stayed at Rudy's VRBO. What a great decision! A fantastic condo within walking distance of the spa, the slopes, and the conference center. Clean and well appointed, the unit has a distinctive "Sundance vibe" which fit in perfectly!

summer mountain escape

We stayed here in late August as a long weekend getaway from SLC. A family of four (parents, 2.5 yo and 3mo). The location is excellent, short walk to the restaurants and deli or chair lift for hiking/scenic ride. It was very quiet and we never heard neighbors. The condo is cozy and the kitchen, while tight, is well equipped and is such a nice space to relax and look out the high ceiling windows out into the forest and listen to the nearby creek flowing (in summer). While here we hiked to Stewart Falls (trail is only steps from the condo!), rode the scenic chair lift to the Bear Claw Lodge and also drove to Vivian Park for an evening walk on the Provo bike path, play at the playground and picnic under the trees. Thanks to the hosts for a wonderful stay!

OK but a few problems

(1) when we arrived the unit smelled strongly of perfumery deodorizers, which my wife is allergic to. We had to stow these away and air out the unit. (2) The owners suggest that the windows be opened at night to take advantage of the cool night air, then closed in the daytime to keep the unit as cool as possible, We found the windows very difficult to open and close since the hardware needs to be repaired for replaced. The unit was noisy during the day from construction of a new building nearby and also roof repair on nearby units. The roofing crew set up a power saw directly below our bedroom window. Kitchen appliances worked fine once a power problem was solved -- tripped breaker. The owners were friendly and quite responsive to our communications during our stay. The unit is in easy walking distance of the Sundance facilities and the grounds are well kept. Overall, we had a positive experience.

Just Lovely

Rudy and Kelly’s pictures online don’t do this beautiful home justice. It is much bigger than it appears and it is absolutely spotless. It’s decorated with the most amazing Native American art and antique cowboy pieces. The king size bed is absolutely sumptuous and has wonderful quality sheets. In the bathroom there is a beautiful large rain shower, and then a separate room with a jetted soaking tub. You can see Mt. Timpanogos from all the bathroom windows. Stunning. Oh, and they have wonderful bath products, soap, shampoo, and moisturizers everywhere. What a treat. The kitchen has absolutely everything you’d ever need. Including items like olive oil and spices, etc… in the morning I loved to sit in that beautiful kitchen with the sun shining all around. It was my favorite thing to do and have a cup of tea. It is worth noting, however, there is not an oven in this kitchen. But there is a gas stove top and microwave. Plenty of hiking, right out the door. The resort literally three minute walk away. The Owl Bar was very fun, but by far the best restaurant was the Treehouse. A little pricey, but worth it. Both Rudy and Kelly were extremely responsive owners. It was a pleasure to deal with them. We highly recommend this home which is half the price of any place else in this resort. Thank you for everything!
