The views from the top deck of the boat are of the city skyline and the Point Street Bridge, which is lit up at night. The top deck is also great for chilling and sunbathing during the day. Swans and Ducks can often be seen swimming by the boat.

Please Note:
Rei Da Gambiarra is a renovated 1969 Nautaline Boat. It is about 275 sq ft on the inside. The ceilings are about 6'4". Entry requires walking down a metal ramp at the marina entrance to a floating dock. The interion of the boat is accessible via a sliding glass window which requires one to duck and walk backwards down a three step ladder. The marina can either be peaceful or lively depending on the night. The boat is in close quarters with other boats that are also docked at the marina and also is in close proximity to three bars on the Marina who sometimes have live DJs and events. This stay is a in a marina in the middle of the city, meant to be a cool, centrally located alternative to a hotel room. The marina water is not good for swimming but there are several beautiful Rhode Island beaches within an hour drive. Parties are not allowed on the boat and guests are expected to follow the marina rules and not to disturb guests on other boats or do anything that might detract other's enjoyment of the marina. Failure to comply could result in expulsion from the marina. By booking you agree to hold harmless property owner of bodily injury, or death.

My two kids and I were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of this old houseboat. It required some stooping and climbing of steep steps, but the spectacular views, fresh ocean breeze, and proximity to fabulous bars, restaurants, and cultural landmarks was more than worth it. Any questions we had regarding the boat and its surroundings were quickly answered by our host, Erin.

This Vrbo was what you might expect of a vintage boat. Some of the things that weren’t terribly pleasant were nature of staying on a vintage boat, but here were the main pain points that were less related: -there are two clubs right next to the marina where the boat is. Over the weekend, the clubs were playing very very loud music until 1-3am in the morning, even if it was empty inside -there are spiders in every nook in the boat. My traveling partner and I are not afraid of spiders, so this was ok for us, but this might not be the best place for you if you do have a fear of them. They did not get in our way or bother us, but they are all over. -The rug in the boat is made of some kind of fibers that get everywhere. Once I realized what they were, the place didn’t feel dirty, but before this realization it looked like there was fine pet hair and flecks of something everywhere. This was just the rug fibers getting into the bed sheets and spread across the place but we were always brushing them off the beds and our clothes -The boat has many many windows and the curtains were all see through Beyond this, there were other small details that were not comfortable such as a lack of microwave, dishes that were not fully clean, and a lack of security. Pros of the boat: walkable to Providence’s touristy attractions, lots of delicious places to eat nearby, right next to a Trader Joe’s, beautiful views of the river and cityscape, fun to be on the water, clear communication frm host
