Really put a downer on the first day of the holiday. I don't expect to have to provide essentials like forks and kitchen knives and clean on arrival. Manager of property was initially understanding but is now ignoring my emails."

"A welcoming, traditional, impeccably presented hotel in an elevated position with expansive views from the gardens. Geared up for weddings and events. A little lacking in facilities for other types of guests (e.g. a gym or pool), but we had a lovely brief stay. Good food, excellent breakfast. Transport needed to reach the property up a long, mainly single track road - try not to leave when dozens of wedding guests are arriving from the opposite direction!"

"Stayed for weekend, and we'd stay again if in the area. The food was lovely -far better than you usually expect invluded with the meal. If we had paid another £100 on top of the room price, we would have felt it was value for money. Room very clean (to be picky, a touch small but fine for a weekend) and staff lovely and attentive"
