The Federal Twist House

Completely restored, 19th century farmhouse situated on 77 acres of private, untouched land just minutes from the Delaware River tow path, shopping, dining, & nightlife. Enjoy the charm of an older home with the convenience of modern, luxurious amenities.

This historic 5 bedroom house, built circa 1810, was completely renovated in early 2017, combining a contemporary design with the restored original detail & character of the home.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing retreat or a vacation full of outdoor activities, this home is perfect for families and large groups. Its close proximity to the Delaware River and New Hope, PA allows for bike rides along the canal, fishing & water sports, shopping, outdoor dining, and nightlife.

Beautiful home

I visited with my family, including my 6 month old grandson. The house was spotless and very spacious! There was plenty of room for all of us. We loved spending time outside enjoying the views. Molly was an excellent host and communications were superb!

Fantastic house and great location

What an amazing historic house with beautiful property in a vineyard. Quiet, close to everything you could want. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, I wish we were able to spend more time at the house, we were there for a wedding weekend and didn't even get to cook a meal in the well-stocked kitchen. I would stay there again in a minute!

Great spot for a family gathering

We needed a space for two families with adult and teen children, and the Federal Twist house was perfect. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated and very functional, and the common areas were comfortable and conducive to family gatherings. The house is close to the towpath and some other hiking areas. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Get-away

We, as well as our children (3 over 20 and 1 under 4) , really enjoyed staying at The Federal Twist. We all enjoyed watching the deer in the evening, the fox that graced the woods, and the animals (cow, burros) across the street really added to our enjoyment. It was the perfect accommodation. We all found it to be a beautiful place and one of the best that we have stayed in globally! Thank you for making this a perfect getaway for our family!

Thanksgiving with a Twist

The Federal Twist House is everything that is stated and more. The home is immaculate, beautifully appointed, with beautiful views, and a fully stocked kitchen for cooking and hosting others. Our family really enjoyed our 3 days over the Thanksgiving weekend with plenty of space and privacy for all. I would highly recommend a stay here and hope to return again. Ty Molly!

Yearly summit of life-long friends

Every aspect of the Federal Twist House was exceptional! Starting with responsiveness with Molly, the host. Upon entry, you see that this house is full of character! There is ample space for 5 couples, beautiful rooms for convening as a group as well as lovely, cozy nooks for private conversations. Beautiful white bedding on all beds and sparkling bathrooms. The location of the house & the grounds is spectacular!Close to Lambertville, Stockton & Frenchtown. We were sad to leave and will come back again when The weather is warmer & the trees are in bloom!

What an absolutely lovely family long weekend gathering place! This rustic farmhouse was charming, comfortable, had a well-stocked kitchen, and a beautiful backyard where we spent a majority of our time. The donning room had a huge table where we gathered round for our dinners each night. There was a cozy game room where we gathered to chat one night before heading to our spacious bedrooms. We walked along the nearby trails each morning and had the added bonus of a new winery right down the road. We had no idea it was also owned by our Vrbo! Such a fun afternoon spent outside on the patio tasting our wine flight and wine slushees along with a charcuterie board. I could not recommend this place more. We didn’t even have to travel into New Hope for a good time. We could have enjoyed our stay right there at the beautiful farmhouse. However, New Hope was only 15 minutes away and well worth the visit. We took a private caboose ride on the New Hope Railway, strolled the charming shops, ate dinner on the water at the playhouse, and topped the day off with a ghost tour of the town. What a fun trip made so much better with our stay at The Federal Twist!!

Charming Home

We stayed several days over our wedding celebration weekend. The property was simply charming and had all the space and amenities needed for a family with children, general adults and older family members. We had a wonderful time staying and exploring the different parts of the home, patio and surrounding areas. Sadly, our weekend was cut short by a wedding night storm and major power outage, which in addition to the lights, air conditioning and the refrigerator, also eliminated the entire water supply to the home, including showers, toilets and faucets. It lasted from 9pm Saturday to an eventual 4pm the following day, so there was no possibility for our large group to stick it out with no restroom use. All of our food spoiled in the fridge overnight and our post wedding family brunch at the house was cancelled due to the lack of power and water/ spoiled food. The owner addressed the unexpected issue with grace and we were truly sad to have to vacate early. I believe a new generator has been installed since the incident (the small generator in place at the time failed, which was my only gripe-it should have been routinely tested and could have saved our wedding weekend), so hopefully our “story” will not be a repeat and everyone moving forward will get to enjoy the home as much as we did. Just a bit of bad luck and bad timing in our case. We would definitely consider an anniversary stay to “re-do” the weekend. Wonderful for large groups and get togethers. A memorable stay!
