Very nice one bedroom and one bathroom cottage with a king bed. Ideal for guests attending a nearby wedding. Very Private setting. Property is on the beautiful Patuxent River in historic Calvert County, Maryland. Outdoor sitting area on the riverfront, a sandy beach and a pier.

Quiet and Peaceful

We were in the area for an event but decided to find a nice getaway spot instead of staying in a hotel. This was a little further from the event location but well worth it! The cottage was clean and welcoming, the scenery beautiful, and overall a comfortable, quiet location.

Very relaxing stay!

The property and the cottage are just beautiful [very quiet] and incredibly well appointed. The bed is super cozy. There is no kitchen but the coffee station was great to have. Note that the cottage shares the property with the main house. My husband and I enjoyed sitting by the river multiple times during our stay and we really appreciated our hosts’ hospitality and communication. Thank you for the beautiful respite!

This place was very lovely. Beautiful atmosphere and very spacious cottage. Didn’t get to see the owners but really enjoyed their property. Loved having the coffee maker, comfy bed and awesome tub! I will definitely be back.

A gorgeous property perfect for a quiet getaway from the city noise. The cottage is very charming, and perfect for two people. Very clean, accommodating, private and peaceful. The private beach is beyond charming and the local spots are amazing. We recommend the frying pan and highly HIGHLY recommend the spider hall farm stand (get the apple cobbler). Nonetheless the cottage is truly amazing and a perfect get away.

Relaxing getaway

My wife and I were looking to get away for a short trip, and we had an amazing stay here. Very private - we saw only one other person in the area on our way in, a friendly neighbor was driving out and pointed us in the right direction. We sat on the Adirondacks chairs overlooking the water almost the entire time and stared at the water and far off sailboats. Mark was very responsive to our questions on check-in and check-out. We'll definitely be back.

Great getaway!

Was probably the best place I could have booked for a getaway. Was prefect and was just what was needed. Would suggest a small mini fridge to be placed in the space. Otherwise, couldn't have asked for a better spot.

A Lovely Place

My husband and I were looking for a quiet night away and this property was just what we needed. It was absolutely perfect. The owners clearly were thoughtful and did their best to create a beautiful comfortable cottage for their guests. It was clean, stocked with essentials, comfortable bedding, and a seamless check-in process. The grounds were peaceful and beautiful as we enjoyed sitting in the lawn chairs by the river. We will definitely do this again.

Nice retreat!

The cottage is adorable but we didn't realize it was so close to the owners house. The water-facing Adirondack chairs were nice but it felt weird walking through, and sitting in, their backyard. Nice place to just stay inside!

Nice and quiet place to stay. Lots of places to eat and there only a short drive away.

The only thing that would have made the stay better would have been to have a mini refrigerator and microwave. Other than that it was the perfect place to have a couples get away and relax.

Perfectly Peaceful!

Uniquely situated with the peaceful sounds and views of the Patuxent River. Enjoyed the quiet while still being close to many of the area attractions. Great place to stop and take a moment to rest.

A Great Escape

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The ability to check in so early in the day really allowed us to maximize our getaway. We enjoyed some wine and cheese along with the gorgeous water view down on the Adirondacks shortly after we arrived. Some afternoon football in our room with a nap to boot had us ready for a lovely dinner out. Everything was just perfect. We hope to be able to return, and we will definitely recommend this property to our friends and family. Thank you!

Beautiful Little Cottage

This little cottage was the perfect weekend getaway. Nice to sit down by the dock on the water. Well appointed, with a candy dish we made quick work of! Would definitely stay again.

What a little gem

Stayed here one night so we could revisit the winery we got married in for our anniversary. It was short but sweet. The cottage was very clean and cozy. The best part was the view of the patuxent river. Will be staying here again.

Beautiful scenery and landscape. Mark and his family were hospitable. Great restaurants within a 12 mins drive. Would definitely come back and recommend. DoorDash did also deliver 😀😀

Great mini getaway

This was perfect for my husband and me to get away for a night. Nice little walk to the water. Owners very responsive and even provided coffee. Local winery around the corner. It was a great stay!

Amazing property!

We loved our stay at Mark’s cottage. We felt very welcomed and it was the perfect quiet getaway by the water. We spent time on the pier and then made the quick drive to Solomon’s Island for dinner. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable escape from the DC area.

Terrific getaway - relaxing and quiet!

My husband and I visited from DC for a long weekend and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing stay! The cottage is adorable and comfortable - the king bed was great (it's on the firm side, which we like), and the soaker tub is a bonus! There's no kitchenette, but the coffee station is fully stocked and has welcoming extras like a bottle of water and chocolates. We read other reviews and brought pre-made sandwiches, drinks and snacks, and along with a few runs for local seafood, did just fine. Guests are also allowed to use the fridge/freezer just off the beach area (also a nice bonus). Couple of notes: if you're tall, like my husband is, be mindful of the canopy bed crossbar. :-) Also, the layout of the property wasn't really clear to us until we saw it in person - the cottage is at the top of a sloping lot, off to the side of the main house. It's surrounded by trees and bushes that give it a secluded feel, even though it's not right on/at the water. That said, the beach is just a short walk downhill, past the house, across a lovely lawn. We took kayaks and paddled every day, and spent a couple of afternoons just reading down by the water. It was quiet enough to hear a band playing across the water. Mark was super-responsive and so very gracious! The cottage wasn't booked on our last day so he offered us a late checkout option, and was quick to respond to any questions we had. We totally recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to relax and unwind!
